LOL
After Didawick flies out to right, Nunnallee makes his 5th plate appearance and still doesn’t have an official AB, drawing his 4th walk to go with a HBP. Teel eventually brings him home with a single to right, his 3rd hit. He and Becker have had good nights at the plate. Headed to 9th, 11-5 Hoos.
Osinski is smoking them in the mid to upper 90s! Two on, two outs.
Game! 11-5 Hoos
We’re in D1’s tourney field as it currently stands. Playing the part of the 3 seed that no team would want to see, and as is tradition they’d be shipping us out west to the Arizona State regional.
Doubt he makes it here….. but that’s straight gas!!
Probably won’t be around for the start of this one but will give score updates whenever I get back.
Need 2/3 this weekend, it’s doable but on the road won’t be easy and Avent’s teams are always scrappy as hell.
So far we had Becker robbed of a 2 run homer by a plus play in CF and then his error on a missed lazy fly leaves us trailing after 2, 0 - 1. Jay is hanging in there despite.
1-0 state on arguably one of the worst play attempts I’ve ever seen from Becker at short
Still 1-0 State after 3, we just threw out a runner at home to end the inning. Nunnallee did a nice job getting the ball in quickly.
Well that was some good defense to prevent the run and end the inning–still 0 - 1 after 3
1-1 game now in the top of the 4th, Godbout with a VERY loud SAC fly to LF. He was two feet away from a three-run HR.
Ference followed it with a very loud out to the CF warning track that ended the frame. We’re JUST missing on these pitches, Fritton their SP is playing with fire.
So close to a dinger but I will take the tying run
Anything hit to the left side of the infield right now is dangerous.
Hanson just short armed a throw to 1st after making a pretty good play on a weird bounce. NCST leads off with a runner on 2nd after the error.
2-1 NCST in the bottom of the 4th on a SAC fly RBI. Nunnallee slipped when tracking the ball and almost lost it, would have been a disaster.
Well here we are on another white knuckle ride. Hope we’re done spotting them runs.
Yeah so far we’re wasting a really, really strong start by Jay with poor defense and frankly unlucky hitting. Plenty of hard hit balls but not a lot to show for it.
James tried to get around 2B who kept closing in on him–hard to call him out on that one when 2B had no play on the ball
Godbout got trucked on a very similar play last season that resulted in an injury, and the ruling was the exact opposite. Runner was given 2nd on interference.
I don’t understand how it wasn’t interference here.
