HOOS win 12-2 to take game one of the series and improve to 31-16 (15-10) on the season. VT falls to 29-23 (11-17).

Baseball America has us as the last in. D1Baseball has us as 2nd to last in.
I’m no expert but seems like if you lose the series, we’re definitely out short of winning the ACCT or at least making the championship game. If you win 2/3 in the series, then it’s a wait & see / hope for no bid stealers but probably in. If you sweep, think we’re on the secure side of the bubble.

I realize the RPI is shaky even if we sweep but I feel like there’s no way they are leaving out a team 5 games over .500 in the ACC, not to mention we probably get a bit of blue blood bias that Duke gets in basketball.

This podcast with the chairman of the selection committee has him saying they take a holistic view, including the “eye test” and momentum and also would take into account the circumstances around the FSU cancellation.
Sure feels like a sweep this weekend would be a lock and a series win probably so as well as long as we don’t go 1 and out in the ACCT.

Softball team lost a winnable game. Lead off walk in bottom of the 7th down 1 and the pinch runner leaves early on the steal. North Florida wins the challenge. Would’ve been a 2-0 count with a runner in first. Instead it’s an out and back to a 1-0 count. Terrible
