Nunnallee saved that from being a 6 run inning.
That bases loaded sac fly could have easily have been a base clearing double. And then threw out the runner at the plate for final out.

3-2 Hokies in the bottom of the 3rd, grounder to Hanson at 3rd who goes home with the throw but the runner gets under the tag to score. VT still with runners on the corners and one out in the inning.

Hodges now out of the game, never looked comfortable on the mound tonight and that’s his second straight shaky start. Moore came in and got us out of a bases loaded, one out jam with two K’s.

You think he went on his own or was sent? Heads up play by the second baseman for VT. Has he not acted quickly Becker would have gotten in. But never should have been in that spot.

Hopefully Valencius deals tomorrow. Hodges was all over but the bats were quieted and couldn’t pick him up. Manning had our number. Bonehead running cost us a tie game and then who knows what happens.

VT takes game two of the series 5-4 to even things up and improve to 30-23 (12-17) on the season. UVA falls to 31-17 (15-11).
Rubber match tomorrow at 1 PM EST. Gotta have it.
