Is Traudt waiting for Creighton to be eliminated to announce?
Entering the portal doesn’t preclude him from going pro or going to Italy. Or returning to Virginia, for that matter (although it seems unlikely). All it does is give him an idea of all his options, and who wouldn’t want to know that? He’s been here five years, so I don’t blame the guy for wanting a change, but I will miss him and his patented face mauls.

Here’s my Papi appreciation post:
Francisco Caffaro was a competent player, who provided good depth off the bench, a great teammate, and a nice guy.
He only played 13%, 12%, 44%, and 12% of minutes over his 4 years, something that must have disappointed him, but I never saw it get him down. When called upon, he came out and mauled people’s faces, talked trash, and gobbled offensive rebounds at a great rate. As it got late into his fifth season this year, and it looked like he was permanently out of the rotation, he stayed happy on the bench and was ready to give us 35 minutes and three starts in the ACCT, going 4-5 on shooting.
His final game was, perhaps fittingly, a DNP, but equally fittingly, he was the first guy off the bench to comfort Shedrick on the loss.
I had the chance to talk to Papi in Crete and Italy, and he was a nice guy who indulged my Spanish.
We need great players to get where we want to go, but we also need Papi types. Thanks for the five years, and enjoy your National Championship ring from your redshirt/green team year AND your UVA degree.

He should make the same one but then just edit Creighton in. When it pans to UVA winning the title have Jim Nantz say, “and CREIGHTON, with the all time turnaround SWEET 16 APPERANCE”. Then Kyle Guy celebrating is just edited over with Baylor Schierman.

Huh did not see Papi transfering as a possibility.
Loved him as a Hoo as some have mentioned, he played his role and did it to the best of his ability.

Shedrick is good in transition but it’s extremely rare for us to run it. We may not want to be an up and down team but how much better would we be with 3 or 4 more scores a game? It’s easy money but we won’t allow our bigs to run the floor.
I was surprised to see the Papi news too, best of luck to him! Complete team guy, which says a lot about someone in his position. Go mail some other faces!
On another note, in the past, hasn’t our transfer portal losses kind of been on a one per day rate in the past? Maybe I’m misremembering but hopefully there is clarity one way (no one else enters) or another (don’t want to talk about it) over the next couple of days.

Reading the tea leaves here, this is probably a result of Tony’s exit meeting with him, clarifying that Traudt is going to take all of his minutes next year.
