What is Creighton famous for moose? Maybe Traudt offered some crazy deal out there to transfer.
Is Creightion the city? (Also, Creighton recruited me in HS but never visited)

This is the long and short of it. We can look at the pre-title trends but the reality is the Perrantes teams never lost in the first round. The Jerome teams lost once in the 1st round. This 1st R L-NIT-1st L stretch is all about the decline in guard talent. We’ve lacked size and shooting. Recruiting/development struggles from 17-21 have hit the on court teams the last few years
McKneely had our best 1st year since at least Kyle so hopefully the recruiting struggles have already started to turn around. Dunn showed at least Wilkins-like future ACC DPOY potential. Everyone is high on Traudt, Bond, Gertrude, and Buchanan. Hopefully that problem has already been solved and we continue the roll with a strong 2024 class
I think Creighton is in Omaha but honestly I know basically nothing about it besides that it is a Jesuit school
I think I would rather go here
Wait, what? There are people who confuse Cretons with Fromage de tete? Frickin amateur hour…
Eh redshirts often struggle with the ‘we/they’ dichotomy. Even if that’s not explicitly how it’s framed. Part of what makes redshirting so challenging mentally is you’re part of the group but only kinda
Need to hook Traudt up with that Pâté nil deal
That’s how I read it as well. He didn’t play with this team in the games so there’s probably a little disconnect. Could read that either way but again I don’t think that quote even registers without that rumor
Maybe the PJs going into Omaha to adress bank problem is just smoke screens for Isaac
Randal Quarles never turned down the Creighton job ![]()
Shed probably has no idea tbh. I’m sure this season sucked and losing sucked so he’s not in the mind frame to make a call. He and Tony are going to have to have a clearing of the air and the result of that will likely determine the outcome of him staying. No idea on what that is though
A reporter was asking Traudt about his perspective on the loss, he wasn’t asking about next year. There is really nothing to take from that, good or bad
Anyone have an idea of when CTB does season exit sit downs with players?
I don’t know, but would have assumed it’s happening now or early this coming week. Or sometime this week?
Why do people keep equating a title four years ago, when kids we’re recruiting were seventh-graders, to titles won before such recruits were born? A title with the same coach vs. a title won by a coach who hasn’t been on the bench in a decade?
There’s a huge difference, and I understand the anxiety, but it’s just a stupid comparison.
EDIT: And before someone says that no one is paying attention to college hoops in 7th grade, I remember Keith Smart’s baseline jumper to beat Syracuse like it was yesterday (yesterday, 36 years ago). There is a crop of kids who remember Kihei-to-Madadi or the Guy FTs or the Hunter corner three and know they were Virginia and Tony Bennett, just as I equated Smart to IU and Bobby Knight.
I have been reflecting a lot on this- and I think my approach moving forward is to look at season success/runs in longer term increments (I.e. 5 year runs). It helps remove the sting of random plays like Thursday that abruptly end the year.
Run 1 (13-14 to 17-18)
Run 2 (18-19 to 22-23)
-1 1 seed, 2 4 seeds, 1 5-6 seed (COVID), 1 NIT
-1 title, 2 R64, 1 N/A, 1 NIT run
Difference between 1 and 2 is 1) How long Malcom Brogdon was in the program for run 1, 2) length/defensive versatility across the board, with multi-year guys versus transfers, 3) title run leading to early departures, 4) success and veterans in run 1 making recruitment a challenge in the 17-19 period.
I think starting next year we are shifting again to having the size and length to be a bit more traditional in CTB system. I think we will look back in 5 years with a few S16s/E8s, and have much less hand wringing over where we are.
I think the 2 main reasons top-60 recruits avoid us are 1) our academic requirements and 2) committing to the Five Pillars. If a player believes he is looking at the NBA in a year or two, why would he make it hard on himself, or tie his hands to our character requirements?
I’m perfectly fine with that. I’d have a hard time rooting for a team of Prima Donnas.
Having said that, there must still be guys we can recruit with length, speed, athleticism and the ability to create their own shot (aka Hunters). But maybe they are all in the top 60 of recruits, lol.
What is “forcemeat”?
Is it steak made out of Jedi or something?
Excellent post.
It’s not.
He’s not.
Better off not knowing what forcemeat is tbh
