First time poster, long time lingerer here. He works in athletics and does a lot of the announcing / promos / events at football and basketball games (if you’ve ever heard the booming “VIRGINIA SPORTS FANSS”, it’s him).
Funnily enough, I went to Vegas for March Madness during my fourth year (two years back when we were in the NIT). I was sitting in a sportsbook for hours with my buddy before he turned to me and said “dude, we’re sitting next to the UVA announcer right now.” Sure enough, it was him, in that exact same orange shirt. Ended up talking to him for quite a while — really great guy, genuinely a huge UVA sports fan — and then I ended up running into him a few days later at the St. Bonaventure NIT game in Charlottesville.

I knew Jamar WAY back in high school; he went to Manchester, I was at Clover Hill, had some friends in common. He went to Liberty but would drive up to UVA to call some lower-tier sports at the time; I remember hanging out with him once when he was calling a Women’s Volleyball game at Mem Gym. Super nice dude, maybe one of the most genuine folks I ever came across. That big, beaming smile is 100% authentic. Glad to see him still doing well.

Yeah I was a couple years behind him, then we knew each other again at UVA through AFROTC. Small world. I graduated Clover Hill in '99.

I’m 95, so we didn’t overlap, but my brother was ‘98. Didn’t go to UVA though.
Damn I’m Clover Hill High class of 2008…Kinda crazy how many of us there are on here lol

I wonder how many of these pollsters realize that Memphis went on the road and beat A&M last night. Have seen so many polls where A&M is still ranked above them.
Also just to add to your point about Seth Davis, he has Dook ranked at 19. Guess we don’t have enough quality losses to make it in.
