Heard the announcers say Reece was a gametime decision with knee issue on rewatch.
Any idea what the injury is?
I was pretty surprised that it was a gametime decision …
I’m pretty close to dropping the $80 for an annual subscription to Eamonn Brennan’s substack… anyone else already do it and think it is worth it?

Brennan was my favorite college hoops writer at ESPN when he was there. I’ve always liked his style, so I think he’s worth it. YMMV.

They seemed to indicate something with his knee. He was wearing a brace and trainers were messing with it during timeouts.

Yeah… he was the UVa beat writer as one of his jobs at ESPN and got caught up in the mass layoffs several years ago. Dinich and Adelson continued on as the ACC writers once he left.

Yeah, ESPN hollowed out their “.com” hoops coverage several years ago. I think now it’s just Borzello and Myron Medcalf. I don’t think they have a dedicated ACC writer, even. Dinich and Adelson are football, I think

He puts out very good UVa specific stuff every month or so. His insights generally are a better caliber than most other stuff publicly available imo. If you want to learn about other teams, it’s a good entry point.

He also did their original “Bubble Watch” pieces starting in late Jan or so, which I always thought were fun when he did them. I just think he’s a terrific writer and I like his sense of humor. Apparently he’s from Indiana originally and had a really touching piece on Bobby Knight’s legacy fairly recently.

I’ve been a subscriber to his substack since the summer and have found it to be very worthwhile. Obviously, I enjoy his coverage of Virginia, but his check-ins with other teams and the game in general are very good too.
Also, he’s a fantastic writer, when Bob Knight passed, he had a post about Knight and difficult men of that generation that was beautiful.
It’s been worth every penny.

A lot of his appeal is simply that he’s a fantastic writer. Funny, insightful. But also, he is clearly a huge fan of college basketball. Some guys write about it like it’s their job, but Eamonn’s love for the sport really comes through.
So yeah I’m subscribed.

I subscribed a few months ago bc he has serious connections to the Hoos from his Athletic days. He also just gets it in my opinion. Whether writing about UVA, St. mary’s, Kentucky…who ever…he is a great college basketball mind and one I enjoy.
Also - he is REECE!'s biggest advocate.

The Twitter links are populating automatically again with both twitter.com and x.com… the Instagram ones are not. I’ve been going in and manually fixing everyone’s Instagram links when done incorrectly. I also manually correct anyone who messes up their Twitter & webpage embed links as well.

Jazz is doing work! Is this going to last though? Before I think tweets would show properly on their own but only for like 1 day out of 30 lol Basically when the limit renewed…something about all the tweets on the site are added up every so often, so the limit wasn’t for new tweets but total tweets over a recent period recounted over and over so that the free limit meant nothing.
