I had the same thought was just looking him up again because I assumed he came along with Bronco and was surprised he was a 22 guy. Imagine he heads back out west and finds a landing spot. Thatās a tough spot to be that far away from family etc. I cannot express how non Islander friendly Charlottesville is and not even in a mean or bad way. Just very different without a lot of home.

Not to get all syrup-y sweet or anything, but you can also tell (sorta) when someone is super genuine about what happened at the end of last year, and that making it a tougher decision or whatever. Maybe Iām projectingā¦

We got a CB on 247 for Kam Courtney, 2024 ATH/WR out of Freedom HS who is currently committed to IU. 3 star and #20 overall player in the state.
Courtney had 6 carries for 75 yards and 2 TDās in the Virginia 5A state championship game.

Thatās a nice steal. I like that the staff is not only out on the trail but being aggressive. Building up a recruiting class of solid 3stars is a big step in steading the ship and establishing a foundation.

I saw we got Drake Metcalf. Who is the other pickup on the OL?
I think two total is what weāre looking for, and already have one with Drake Metcalf, who I understand to be an interior guy. One more OT for depth and competition will be critical. Seeing as how we do bring back essentially our 2-deep, most of whom I expect to look much better next year with added experience (for the rising 3rd years) and a normal spring (for the recent transfers; keep in mind how jacked last offseason was after the tragedy). Get one more good OL after bowl games end and I think weāre set there. Add in the new Harvard TE, and wouldnāt hate to see us make a run at the AFA TE, and thatās a competent trench roster on the offense.
Defense is where Iām more worried with the Portal.
