I donāt know what our ceiling is but I would be legitimately surprised if we didnāt win at least 4 games.
I think itās a pretty clear situation for the staff: if they canāt win games with this roster, theyāre probably not going to win games period. Not saying they need to win 8-9 this year, but they need to flip some of the close losses from last year into wins this year. They should get credit for the roster being in the kind of shape itās in now, but it means little until we see results on the field.
I have no idea how many games weāre going to win. All I know is I better get to see Colandrea sling that ball around with reckless abandon. Whoever catches it catches it.
The football teamās season is like the menās hoops teamās starting lineup: thereās a lot of potential variance.
Oversimplified, thereās one sure win, two sure losses and like 9 games where a bad Hoos team will be a 4-6 point underdog. If the team pulls itself together and plays like it did in the second half last year, they could win 7-8 games, if, say, UNC stumbles, etc.
But thatās a big ask, and history tells us itās more likely to go the other way. And if that happens , 4 wins is optimistic.
Iām hoping itās AC, but thereās some in our fanbase who think Muskett gives us a better shot at 6 wins. I donāt really understand the reasoning behind that but weāll see.
Both QBs will get the knod this year. AC is working hard to posistion himself as the guy and I can see him winning it. If he settles down a bit he could be a gamechanger but his consistency needs to improve from last season.
