šŸˆ UVa Football Preseason 24

I don’t know what our ceiling is but I would be legitimately surprised if we didn’t win at least 4 games.

I think it’s a pretty clear situation for the staff: if they can’t win games with this roster, they’re probably not going to win games period. Not saying they need to win 8-9 this year, but they need to flip some of the close losses from last year into wins this year. They should get credit for the roster being in the kind of shape it’s in now, but it means little until we see results on the field.

I have no idea how many games we’re going to win. All I know is I better get to see Colandrea sling that ball around with reckless abandon. Whoever catches it catches it.

The football team’s season is like the men’s hoops team’s starting lineup: there’s a lot of potential variance.

Oversimplified, there’s one sure win, two sure losses and like 9 games where a bad Hoos team will be a 4-6 point underdog. If the team pulls itself together and plays like it did in the second half last year, they could win 7-8 games, if, say, UNC stumbles, etc.

But that’s a big ask, and history tells us it’s more likely to go the other way. And if that happens , 4 wins is optimistic.

Just saw ESPNs football preview their index has 4.1 wins which fair enough.

So I’ve been watching a few games… there is zero defense being played… its actually enjoyable… like arena football!

Yup thats exactly it. The defense is awful but it makes for a ton of big breaks and long scores

We going with AC or Muskett?

I hope AC due to more eligible years and has that swag!

I’m hoping it’s AC, but there’s some in our fanbase who think Muskett gives us a better shot at 6 wins. I don’t really understand the reasoning behind that but we’ll see.

From my reading a few months ag

Muskett, with the goal being to shirt AC this season. We’ll see if he can stay healthy enough for that to happen.

Both QBs will get the knod this year. AC is working hard to posistion himself as the guy and I can see him winning it. If he settles down a bit he could be a gamechanger but his consistency needs to improve from last season.

Given Muskett’s injury history and AC’s size and the way he plays I have to imagine we’ll see them both this year.

Medical redshirt musket. AC is more dynamic and looks to have the team behind him!

If our starting QB (whoever that is) can make it through the first game intact, that will be an improvement.

Well starting with VMI and not top 10 ranked Tennessee on the road will help a lot.
