Snagging players away from MISH ST, ND, TENN, VT, FLA, etc is a good sign. A foundation can be laid with this type of player. It reminds me of the Welsh very early years. I’m rooting for TE.

I hate the uniforms. We previously had outstanding uniforms and for whatever reason we let NIKE turn them to shit.

Big time get. Former Florida commit. Offers from nearly everyone.

Holy crap, check out the offer list! Probably the most impressive recruiting win of the TE era so far!

CTE and staff are doing something right thats 5 recruits who committed right after a visit. 4 of them are high 3s or a near 4.

A lot of hugh skill level athletic guys. There’s a plan in place

It’s all going to come down to winning this year to keep momentum.. I wonder what the minimum wins or quality of team he needs to keep his job

Fans are doubting their tactics, but the staff seems to be onto something. Instead of hosting large groups of recruits, they bring in either one or a few recruits so they can dedicate their time to them and build relationships. Recruits seem to be responding. I think they only want a couple more HS recruits in this class. So plenty of time to do just that.

I’ve said it over and over in this thread, but I will reissue it again as the season approaches. The bar is very low for the staff this season and it should be. 3-4 wins will be more than enough to keep everyone in place.

Making a move after this season would kill what little momentum the staff has created. It’s clear the staff is finding a stride and the recruiting tactics combined with the facilities are resonating with recruits and they are signing. The staff deserves the opportunity to get that talent on grounds and a chance to work with them. Firing the staff now would cause that entire class to be lost and make the program hit the reset button yet again.

Barring some unforeseen collapse (which even last season while bad they were competitive) I don’t want to entertain any serious talk about staff changes until after the 25 season.

It’s almost as if having a competitive practice facility matters?!?

Shame on the administrations who let it take this long to get done. Imagine if they’d done it 8-10 years ago like they’d once promised Bronco upon his hiring.

Aint no looking back in this car.

Obviously it would have helped it didn’t happen. And while facilities are great they arent a magic pill still got to close the deal and there’s no guarantee Bronco London would have done it. So I don’t think it’s worth the mental cycles to play out that scenario.

What we do have is a set of facilities that are impressive a staff that is figuring out how to leverage those combined with small groups building relationships and pixie dust to rebuild this mess

I dunno man.. he’ll be recruited against as a lame duck HC pretty heavily if we can only muster 3-4 wins again

Hows that different than the current cycle?

Expecting the team to win 5 or 6 with the current lineup and schedule is essentially making the staff a lame duck now. There’s a reason every handicapper is pegging them at 3.5-4.5 wins and they were picked 14th in the conference

It’s not.. which is why I don’t really expect him back if we don’t improve this year

Then how are they recruiting well if the staff is currently a lame duck staff?

I think they’re recruiting better than they were before but still bottom 5 in ACC. One more year is one more data point that he may not last. I hope he succeeds and all this is moot

We’re doing well at getting skill position guys, but it’s hard to overstate how massive it would be to get a 4 star DL or OL. I think people underestimate how much our lines held us back last year.

On defense, we finished last in the COUNTRY in sacks among P5 schools. I know we had a ton of injuries, but woof.

And on offense, we finished 123/133 in P5 in sacks given up.

It’s just so hard to have any success with numbers like that. I think we’ll be better in both categories this year (hard to be worse), but our offensive line scares the hell out of me.

Our skill position guys are super exciting though. I’m calling it now- Andre Greene Jr. will be All-ACC :crossed_fingers:

Did 2Jac leave this offseason or last?

Legit don’t remember

Last year was Heff’s first year at UVA. 2J’s group at NC State finished 50th (tied with Va Tech and Tennessee among others) in sacks given up per game. He’s got a lot more to work with in Raleigh though.

Gotcha couldnt remember when he left. There wasnt a lot to work with last yr. When you’re starting 3 first yrs you’re gonna struggle even if they’re 5stars
