Tony likes London broil on Sundays. In addition to having an idiosyncratic preference for Rohde minutes for which there isnāt a logical basis, he likes consistency. Maybe thatās the best argument for what heās been doing
Dont think so. If we agreed on principle, then it would be clear that Rohde is the best fit. Of course it can be situational too, as we saw with NC State. But nothing about Georgia Tech or Louisville let me think āWe need less Rohde hereā.
NC State (like Memphis) is a special caseā¦ itās easy to say oh if you ball pressure heāll fall apart. Not many teams will pressure like either of those 2 will though.
Yes. Because no matter how comfortable Taine gets heās not a pg. And no matter how comfortable Gertrude is, heās not a catch and shoot 3pt threat (his aau 3pt shots came a lot with the ball in his hands. Doesnāt show much familiarity otherwise from 3). Rohde is the only one of the three who has shown both at Peach Jam, at his past school, and even in spurts here. We need someone who can do both.
Rohde is nowhere near perfect but heās the only one capable of doing both/heās our best shot on this current roster.
Getting his % over 30 is such a great point. My assumption is he hits at a decent clip in practice, given the tendency to continue to stick with him. You nail it on the head of the options available he provides the most likely to put it all together for what we want out of that specific role.
I would never have Dante on the floor with Reece, except in emergency late game beat the press type scenarios. Dante + Reece minutes would basically all be Eli + Reece + iMac minutes.
Iād also try to find maybe 5 mpg for R + iMac + taine (meaning 5 extra mpg for taine, over rohde)
Harris should only play with iMac and rohde/taine, as a pure back up for Reece.
Leon would be my odd man out, playing only for situational defensive matchup reasons.

This is maybe too analytical? Heās averaging 3 assists on a team where the only other player averaging over 1.7 is Reece. Thatās a major difference especially in a system predicated on having good ball movement with multiple players who can handle the assignments. Sure maybe if you give guys more run that could change, but even doubling the minutes of both bond and Taine to put them in the same minutes ballpark and giving them benefit of the doubt doubling of production would give them both about 1.5 assists per.
I donāt think youād find many, if any, posters that would disagree with these statements. Again, I want to see Eli more. How he doesnāt get a little run when we are up 25+ against Louisville in 1H is beyond me. But Iām not one of those posters that just loves to criticize coach, so Iāve tried to keep my posts contained to trying to understand why weāre seeing what weāre seeing from our great coach.

Rohde is really bad. Eli would be accretive to our on court performance vs Rohdeās minutes
Eli could bring a little somethin somethin as a change up, would help us win games
Need to get him some minutes as an investment for the future (not concerned about transfer)
Need to play him because afraid heāll transfer
