Maybe. But Reece is also pretty good at coming off a screen off ball and putting pressure on the defense immediately. In b/m the first guy coming off a screen is rarely the scorer, so you almost want your true āinitiatorā starting off without the ball. I donāt know, Iām kinda just making this up.

I will agree with you that B/M is not a modern offense. But Tony wants his one last hurrah his way.
Im all about wing army. 5 wings. But I think Tony is at his best with 3 ball handling guards, an Akil/Atkins/Mamadi forward and a Gill/Hunter scoring forward.

Rohde reminds me of 2015-2016 Devon Hall. Stats are fairly similar although Rohde plays a few more minutesā¦. Hopefully he can take the same career trajectory and work as hard as Devon did to become an all conference level player.

Iāve skimmed most of the stuff on this thread because RoDog played a very good first half against Louisville. Will X be a great player in two years? Likely with some patience. Will RoDog be great in 2 years? Not great, but for next year AND the year after, he is turning into an incredibly valuable piece of the puzzle. Other than effing the one lay up, if Taine or X had the game RoDog did, weād be gushing.
Now, hit me with the statistics (and I will still believe my lying 
)

It was a horrible pass meant to be intercepted and not catchable by the receiver. That said if you lose the turnover battle 3-0 in a big game at home I donāt want to hear about the refs. I was not particularly cheering for either team.
The nain problem i have with Rhode is his lack of hustle. He has lost his man at least twice (more?) on inbound plays under the other teamās
basket and gave up layups. Also on at least 2 cases there was a loose ball on the floor and Rhode was closest to the ball and could have got both of them easy with a little hustle. He didnāt move either time and i got pissed.. Everyone makes mistakes but lack of hustle should never happen

Having said that he has made some of the best passes Iāve ever seen. Against Louisville he caught Dunn running down the lane and threw a pass i doubt Dunn seen leave his hand. Dunn arrived at the same time the baÄŗl did and it was an easy dunk.

Hilariousā¦ Taine has already had a better game this season than any of Rohdeās best.
During our 4 game win streak Buchanan is 8-13 (62%) from the floor, for reference he was 19-50 (38%) in the other 16 games. Itās a small sample size that is skewed a bit by his 4-5 performance against VT, but Iām mainly bringing it up to say that Iām glad heās finding more success converting around the rim. Gives me even more optimism that once he bulks up heāll be very tough to stop in the post, being able to roll off ball screens like heās had success doing recently while also not getting pushed around when trying to back down his defender in the paint. Improve on the FTās too and all of a sudden youāve got something really good.

Yeah I mean thatās the crux for me. His line ups are good. He provides valuable skill for our all ACC PG that no one else does.
I donāt think the two camps are far apart in terms of what they want to see, with the exception of Dave My Metrics Or the Highway Metrics Wave.
I do think the fear of transfer is way more of a motivator than the poll showed (just 1 vote), given how vocal people were about this in the game and otherwise. I simply donāt think the tradeoffs worth risking it to get a dude 8mpg. More than likely itāll be too hard to get him paired with the right guys to let him really grow (eg finding the right guys for him and against our opponent).
You get a much faster return on investment at 15-20 mpg over 5 games than like 6-8 mpg over 12 games. So why all the hand wringing if heāll get those bigger minutes next season and fast track development?

I think heās had a couple lucky bounces in that 8-13 (from memory), so Iām not going to change my opinion of him much from that sample size.
But I do think he can be very good in two years.
Hilarious indeed. Look, I like and admire Taine. In his 3rd year in the system, he is due some minutes, but he has serious limitations as well, particularly on defense. In his 2nd year in the system, he played little and shot even worse percentage-wise than RoDog. Most people assumed he would hit the portal and were fine with it. Iām glad he stuck. I see a lot more upside in RoDog than in Murray and by your own measuring stick, you should play the upside more - correct? 4th year Murray is going to be more valuable than 3rd year Rohde?
I guess we just watch basketball differently.
PS - and we have gushed over Taine when he had his better games. I just believe the narrative on this board on Rohde has gotten a bit overboard and even when he does really well, thereās just a a lot of ābut he really suxā response.

I saw some unusual deadening on the rim. Iām not sure enough to bet my life on it. But it seemed lucky from my POV. Not as lucky as that 2-2 FT from Dunn, butā¦
Murray has a little more athleticism and size than Rohde. Rohde might end up performing at a higher skill level down the road but Taine is a better physical match for our defense than Rohde.
