Definitely the new assistant. Iām quite heavy on the retention train. I think the core of skills we have within our young guys is great. And if they got old and we didnāt change anything on offense, I bet they could get back to a top 20-30 offense anyway. But in this new environment, I donāt really want to bank on that and donāt want to take more lumps in the meantime.

Dudes that can make plays can overcome some awfully bad coaching so Iād go with the players that fit the system but if you choose the assistant Iām A-OK with that.
Skyy Clark and El Ellis (from last year) would probably beg to differ.

Theyāre not wrong. I mean, Stephen A. is wrong that Tony should be fired, but I get where he is coming from. The reason he is wrong is because Tony has the basketball acumen and coaching skill to overcome the deficits we face. BUT, the problems we face are of his making ā and I love CTB ā and I think he is the one to fix them. Thatās why he is wrong, but the rest of the discussion? Not wrong at all. And embarrassing, quite frankly.

We had McKneely barely firing off screens, getting no separation and Rohde not using any space off the curl, ever. Never dribbled into the paint and attempted anything in close or at the rim.
Led to so much needless passing around, even more so than normally seen in our offense

I truly hope I am wrong, but the more I think about it the less I think Tony will change the offensive system. I think there may be significant roster changes, and the strategy regarding recruiting and portal evaluations will be re-assessed, but I am skeptical regarding system changes. But hopefully, I am being an emotional woman!

Reminds me of when they had him talking up Dunnās poster back in November and he tried to talk like he knew about Dunn as a player. He has no idea who any of the people he talks about are, he just has these bits ready to go to stir the pot when he needs them

I want to do away with movement away from the hoop to create space for shooting. It has always been bizarre that we run a defensive system that predicates the non-shooting ability of NCAA players with an offense that generates jump shots. This is incongruous.
