Then there’s Kenyon… Their men’s team won 31 in a row (including 4 times leaving my team in their wake in the 80s). If dominance is defined by consecutive titles, they’ll never be topped.

But it can be defined other ways. Such as holding 11 of 19 possible NCAA records!

True. The records are really impressive. And they keep reducing the times each year. We’ve had one swimmer on our Olympic teams but we hopefully will have a group on the women’s swimming team in Paris and they should be medal contenders . . . with hopefully some winners.

Yeah this fits more what I meant by most dominant collegiate sports team. Just this year.

Penn State was trying to make that claim in Wrestling this year, have a couple guys trying to win their 4th straight natties

In the '80s, Iowa won ~9 consecutive national championships in Wrestling and 24 championships overall. That was pretty good, though 24 is apparently only 2nd.

Kenyon was dominant - though that was also DIII, so depends on one’s perspective, of course…I had a couple grad schools friends who swam there

Both Alex Walsh and Kate Douglass were on the Tokyo Olympic Team and won Silver and Bronze in the 200 IM.

If Curzan and Gretchen perform at Trials, we could potentially have four on the Paris US team.

Nocentini could make the Italian team, and Canny could make the South African team, too.

Also keep an eye on Leah Hayes, who’ll be in Cville right after Paris.

She’s awesome, but isn’t going to catch Douglass and Walsh for a 200IM spot this year.

Gretchen Walsh just smashed her own 100 Fly record - an insane swim about 1 second faster than Douglass’ record last year.

She’s a good 400 IMer too.

Can we all agree that Gretchen Walsh is a certified bad ass? And, she keeps getting better and better. Not to mention the rest of the team. Can’t wait for Paris 2024 and watching the Hoos represent on the global stage.

I don’t fully keep up with the swimming schedule but I swear a new record was set every time they competed. Just truly incredible level of dominance.

So, in my master plan we level Scott Stadium to expand the AFS.

yawn - just another natty and we start the drive for 5 to cement the legacy.

I’m feeling you Dragon. So, this Round Tuna building goes, and the crappy rooms around that undeveloped lawn space, well, I see developable real estate and I only inconvenience a few nerds.

all we really need is to put a platform diving well from the AFC into Scott Stadium…
It’s complementary…
