UVA vs Lehigh Thread

You only get so many shots to get those guys on the floor and you need to take them. Important for culture.

I’m cool with getting them in, but not at the 2:00 minute mark. If we want to put them in, take a timeout and sub them in at 30 seconds.

Again, realize this is very minor, but it’s just so weird to me for guys like McCorkle to finally get time and then get subbed out with significant game time remaining.

Much more importantly though, awesome second half. Go Hoos!

More importantly Taine’s 3mins showed why he’s
Not playing. I just don’t get why I’ve watched top 75ish guys perform for the past several days and ours, well, I don’t get it. I’m already tempering expectations for the fab 4 next year outside of Traudt.

Dude the rankings are meaningless. He never played against any other top 75 recruits. He was overrated. He was overhyped on this board. It’s simple.

Edit: he might turn out to be a stud. I still have hopes. Guys need to temper expectations though.

I’d feel better if we get Dunn here in January. Traudt is gonna be a stud though

Love it!

I really don’t understand the McCorkle and Taine love, guys, can someone explain? I mean, very limited minutes but I don’t understand what expectations are I guess. When they signed I was like, ā€œmehā€, am I missing something?

This is definitely not the positive people only thread

I never understood the hype around taine. I mean I understand it, because that’s what message boards do, but the guy literally never did anything to justify it. He never saw the court against ā€œgrown ass menā€ when he was on a pro team.

But here’s a thought: he’s a really talented guy whose development has been set back by COVID. Additionally, he is an international and that’s a whole separate adjustment. He’s going to be fine guys. But he isn’t ready. It’s okay.

Obviously I love them because they are hoos, but I still don’t get it.

Was for me! Had Lehigh +20 and the under (121.5) and I was HAPPY HAPPY! Plus the Hoos won easily! Great day after T-day!

I’m not negative, quite the opposite really, look at my posts. Just curious.

Someone should tell brad that Carson needs to go make some cuts with purpose like Malachi does

I read pretty much everything on this board and someone did post that he is (MCCorkle) actually right in line with expectations. But I genuinely don’t know if I am missing something else, was he expected to be an amazing player?

I only take brads post as a positive. He understands development doesn’t happen overnight. Much better than a certain social media post from a relative back in 2017…

Some had him penciled in as the next Kyle guy. He reclassified. Should be a 1st year. He’s going to be ok too. Especially if his attitude is as good as his dad’s is.

You could sense some frustration there with Taine. Coming in at garbage time he seemed to be just trying to get a bucket, forcing it instead of playing within the flow. I’m sure it’s tough for him right now. They had him working as a forward out of necessity, but now are trusting Igor more there which was always how it was intended to be. Meanwhile and maybe partially because of that, he’s fallen way behind in the guard pecking order.

That’s rough on him, Kyle Guy was an All American right? That’s really not fair, and if he’s a first year then this is a great experience for him and he could potentially develop even more in coming years, good to know. Also it puts things in perspective as far as expectations, at least for me.
