Or 49-47
Iām convinced if Rohde just adopted the Cam Spencer ādawgā approach as soon as next year, heād be in the 12ppg/5 apg range. He has the shot form and ability, just needs the confidence and an offseason of S&C.

Can we talk about that beautiful alley oop to Dunn in the last few mins that he missed point blank, then Blake missed the dunk but somehow went in anyway. That was nuts.
Felt like we missed a million bunnies and free throws. Score couldāve easily been 61-47.
Also, did that remind anyone of the NC state game at home?
LOL! When he was talking to the alumni at the reception after the game, he said āI told him, āCall the bleeping travelāā. I assumed he had literally used the word bleeping until explained that he had actually cussed.
TBH, I was shocked. The man is human after all. And to learn this in the Lenten season.
It didnāt directly lead to the shot, but it was good play design on that possession:

Kinda interesting that Rohde was the one running through the elevator doors; IMac was stationed in the corner in case his man decided to help on the drive.
Also, Reece throwing that lob on the money while getting blitzed was really good. Reece was such a baller in the second half. The offense got really simple, lots of middle pick and rolls, and relied on Reece to find a way to attack the drop coverage.
Tony read what folks here were saying about getting out coached by Forbes in the first game and turned on the jets.
A few nice designs in second half that responded well to what Wake was throwing at us.
lol, yep. That was a 7-8 pt win easy. The tech FTs, the bs call that took away the Groves 3 and the balls that bounced around the rim, and yea, a few more made FTs.
I wish I could like this twice!
Heās a really good set play designer. Has been for a while now.
I mean, look at this:

I assume the players can just go practice FTs whenever they want. Please tell me they are.
I think theyāve crossed into granny shots territory. Can we hire Rick Barry to be a consultant for a few weeks?
I would legit be ok with Ryan Dunn shooting fadeaway free throws. Itās his best shot, lol.
Heās one of the more variable defenders weāve had re: some games heās quite good all around and then others heās a liability. He was good yesterday.
Heās normally better on ball than off but some games he really struggles to both stay in front and recover. Makes me feel like heās still fighting through whatever the foot issue was and it flares up game to game.
I think Rohde is still learning where he needs to be on the court. He was very good yesterday at covering gaps and then recovering and closing out on his man.
And heās got the ability to shoot. Heās been hitting 39% of his threes over the last seven games. But thereās a huge difference between when heās ready to shoot as soon as he receives the pass and when he has to stop and think. His biggest issue is indecisiveness. Thatās not true of other parts of his game: Heās very aggressive when heās handling the ball and when heās passing (sometimes too aggressive). He just doesnāt seem to trust his own shot at the moment.
As someone who has been battling plantar fasciatis for 7 months, Rohde moves like a guy who is hurting. Not injured, but hurting. And not like Reeceās old man walk. I could be wrong but it wouldnāt surprise me if he was playing through something like that.

Hoping Tech doesnāt have our name on a checklist.
Yeah, I think so, because itās his movement that appears variable on a nightly basis. I actually think he knows the rotations well (sometimes heās a little late identifying when to leave to help or when to leave his help to recover but heās mostly pretty good about it) itās more that his actual quickness/footspeed seems much slower some games than others.
To be fair⦠Wake missed a lot of bunnies as well⦠now the FTs were a different story, but the bunny issue is not an isolated UVa problem. It is just a selected perspective problem.
Major difference: RD was defending Wakeās bunnies, but shooting FTs for us
