UVA vs Wisconsin (Ft Myers) Monday 11/20 6pm EST FS1

Maybe it’s just me, (it’s not), but if Gard told me the sky was blue, I’d ask for citations

In what ways then is Providence that much better than the Hoos?

With iMac we are comfortably the favorite. Better than 65:45 imo. Without him I feel like it’s 50:50. We are going to shut them down it’s just a matter of can we find the offense without iMac’s shooting

Interesting odds

I bet this game will be annoyingly close. Wisconsin is an absolute disaster right now. But this will be a game they need to win if they have aspirations of doing anything with their season so they will fight. We really should beat them with or without Isaac but probably won’t be easy.

Lol - I don’t get odds I just mean better than 65%

65:35

They showed pretty much everyone but iMac in the fly to fort meets video on the men’s basketball twitter. Might just not want to show him walking in a boot but thought it was interesting

Any docs out there can tell us what boot / no boot means in terms of ankle sprain?

Most ankle sprains are crutches and no weight from my experience getting them. The boot makes it seem like high ankle sprain, a slightly different beast (from what I’ve read on the interwebs).

If it is high ankle I assume at least a week or two. But J Willy said game to game so …

Even if he’s playing he’ll likely be in a boot until shoot around. Common precaution.

Might not get slow mo videos of them getting off the bus if you can see a boot for several seconds…

High ankle sprain is 4-6 weeks, not 1-2. Doubt that’s what it is, though. High ankle sprains are more likely to need crutches, and usually require a larger boot. It also would be very misleading to describe a high ankle sprain as “day to day” or “game time decision.”

That’s the info I’m looking for!

I personally would be surprised if he’s playing tomorrow.

Even if not a high ankle sprain, that’s a tough thing to come back to in less than a week. It needs to be fully healed for him to come back or it’s going to be a nagging injury for the rest of the year.

I don’t know what the odds of him playing are, but I think we need his shooting. I went back and watched the Wisconsin/Tennesse game, and they were able to hang with Tennesse all the way until about 6 minutes left. From what I saw we are likely to have trouble guarding at the 5 (hopefully Blake is up to it) and rebounding…all season, I guess. They have some good offensive pop; Storr was especially good in that game, BUT if we put Dunn on him he is going to have a bad night.

I don’t have the statistics, primarily because I am lazy…just assessing with the eye test. I do not think they have seen anything like the stifling defensive we will throw at them. I am only saying that I think with IMac we likely win pretty easily; without IMac we are – I think – going to have a dog fight on our hands. It seems as though some people are suggesting we are going to roll these guys, but I am not so sure. I am not saying we are going to lose without IMac by any means, but I don’t think we should confidently look past them.

High ankle sprains are a week or less or 3+ weeks depending on severity in my experience. Not a lot of in between (source: I play fantasy football).
