🏈 Virginia at Coastal Carolina, W, 43-24, 3-1 (1-0 ACC), Saturday, 21 September 2024, 1400, ESPN+

By the way, should Mack be on the hot seat in Chapel Hill? Top 10 recruiting classes every year, and a recent FCS convert hangs 70 on you, in the stadium you just spent $50 million to renovate….

Front 7 has been great, shut down their run game for the most part. We’ve struggled in single coverage against their speedy WR’s.

At halftime Elliott said he wanted the guys to just “play sound fundamental football for 6-7 seconds at a time”. Feel like for the most part we really are doing that. And when your team has better talent, that’s enough.

Still see this as a 5-7 team end of the day. Coastal, Wake, and UR are the three worst teams on our schedule by far. UNC and SMU the only two remaining games I have real hope for (and even then stopping short of “confident”). BC and Pitt are both looking solid so far this year and we’ll need a great game to beat either. The other four, meh.

I guess you go for it here?

Yeah in no man’s land.

Griese’s fast and has pretty good hands, but I don’t at all get repeatedly using him as a RB. He’s neither shifty nor elusive. As a receiver, that’s ok, but as a RB it’s disastrous.

Was a good playcall but again the wrong personnel. Vaughn or Brown get the 1st down there.

Need to lock in a little better right now. They score here and it’s not over.

We have a bunch of depth guys in now, right? It’s the only thing that makes sense.

Awful playcall from Coastal, but a nice job by the defense to sniff it out.

Did Ty Furnish switch sides during the quarter break?

There we go. Nice easy run for Brown. Eat yards, eat clock.

I like Pace but Brown needs to be our lead back, 15-20 carries every game. Kobe can still handle short yardage and goal to go downs.

The rolled snap helped a lot. Really messed up the play’s timing.

Yeah threw off the timing, but still a triple option out of the pistol on 4th and 1 is questionable.

Right at 300 net rushing yards.

Didn’t see that one coming.

I think the reason Pace is the starter has to do with being better picking up pass pro and better receiving skills. He’s the more “complete” back.

Yeah fair enough, I do agree Pace is our best back in pass protection. Probably also why we’re seeing Griese as much as we are.

Great look off from AC. Still a bit late on the throw but it was enough for Fields to make a play.

No idea why we went for two again.
