It’s on ESPN2. Don’t want to waste a premier matchup like this on the U.
Also, @rushdacote, is this a must win?
I wouldn’t say must win, but we’re already on the outside looking in, according to Torvik’s list of expected ACC wins:
Losing to last place would certainly be very bad and cost us at least 0.6 expected wins. All three of the remaining games in which we’re favored by Torvik are in the next four: @Miami, vs VT, vs GT. It could easily come down to the final two games vs FSU (42%) and @Syracuse (40%).
On the Bubble (only one will miss)
Cal (holds H2H tiebreak over UVA)
Georgia Tech (home 2/8)
Syracuse (away 3/8)
Virginia Tech (home Sat, away 2/15)
NC State (UVA holds H2H tiebreak)
----------------------
UVA
Locks to Miss the Tourney
BC (UVA holds H2H tiebreak)
Miami (away Wed)
BC ain’t a lock if they play like they did vs UNC
BC won’t play that well too often. UNC was their third best game of the season according to Torvik (score of 84). Their worst game this year? UVA (4).
Thankful it was
Watching this year’s team is like being in an abusive relationship… you know you shouldn’t go back, but you just can’t help yourself, and you think…maybe this time will be better…
If Rohde is in a boot we are cooked tomorrow
Miami -1.5
Dogs to an 0-9 ACC team
We’re always the team with the most ACC wins over the last 5, 7, 10 years whenever they bring up the most wins in [#] years stat.
How are the mighty fallen!
Last time 2 interim coaches faced off in the ACC??
Is CRS the first interim HC named for the ENTIRE season?
The problem with Miami is they have some talent. If Kidd plays and Cleveland plays well and they show up in general, it could be tough.
Pack is definitely out, right?
Yeah Pack is sitting out to save extra year for more NIL money er I mean back injury?
Bootless Rohde.
I wonder if Pack can get a medical RS having played 9 games. I don’t really know that rule
Athletes injury must occur before 2nd half of the season AND athletes must have competed in 30% or less of teams games. So 9/30 is exactly 30%… with provided proof of injury being season ending he should be cleared for the waiver…
It’s also my biggest curiosity watching WVU. DeVries son is also right on that line… I’m interested in if he returns this year or holds just in case they decide to move again…
At any time interval over the season Virginia has been 70+ spots ahead of Miami in Torvik. The last month Virginia has been in the 170s and Miami has been 285th!
None of their relative strengths are our relative weaknesses. Hard not to feel like the +1.5 is recency bias after Miami almost beat Cal and we got destroyed by ND (although maybe those outcomes are part of a trend).
Hoos win.
