Money talks
Youâre right about York playing. I meant younger IOL guys and didnât include York because I thought he was an OT only, but if he can play guard, all the better.
What is the dollar value threshold for âyour donation gets its own write-up on VirginiaSports.comâ?
Iâm gonna take a shot in the dark and say $3 mil.
Yâall still think the program is building something?
From a âfriend of the programâ. Iâd like friend of the program level money. Is that up there with FU money?
Seriously, this is awesome though. No more worries about having the resources to reload for next season.
Itâs in the neighborhood for sure.
âIf you have a university that is aligned top to bottom that wants to play championship football, you can have a championship program anywhere,â said Fralin Family Head Football Coach Tony Elliott. â
The 2026-2027 Hoos with Arch Manning signal calling behind the entire poached PSU OL will change the course of history
Indiana has shown the path to any middling program. Itâs up to the to open the door and walk through into the shining light.
There is no reason we canât be Indiana! Or at least the ACCâs (for now) version of it. Honestly our path is probably easier from a geographic standpoint.
Will Indianaâs rise lead to a ton of good money thrown after bad at a lot of schools thinking they can do the same? Probably! Doesnât mean we shouldnât try!
Iâm still very confused by the rev share cap though. Isnât there a limited amount of money you can direct towards things? Is this just a payment towards the football share so it doesnât have to eat into other things? Or is this marginal money that can actually get spent on football that wouldnât otherwise have been?
What a fund game with would be to guess which âfriend of the progrumâ is donating.
Canât believe Katie Couric is funding UVa football!
If your pockets are deep enough, you can fund a cancer center AND the football team.
Totally agree.
Iâm fine with UVA occupying the ACCâs version of Indiana.
Iâm also fine with other programs following the Indiana route. Just because you have money doesnât mean youâre going to spend it correctly and be successful. The well run programs will still rise to the top.
Mitchell Melton did the same thing:
Way past FU money
The reality is we probably have more of these âwhaleâ type alumni than the vast majority of schools who care about being relevant in football/major college athletics. We just had to convince them to give to football/athletics. The new era where thereâs a more direct correlation between dollars and on field/court success makes that an easier pitch to make.
How we feeling this morning @BDragon ??
Feeling fine.
No reason the Hoos should come out strong and take care of business.
