Noticed that as well, both times he spun the wrong way
Agreed. I donāt think AC is cut out for a prostyle offense. Similar to BA. Exact reason we should run the spread, air raid or other gimmick/system offense. Which would give us a better chance to compete regularly anyway. AC would probably be fine with limited/quick reads.
Iām not saying we should abandon the Anthony Colandrea experiment ⦠but Iām not saying we should take a look at portal QBs in the off-season either.
Dude is ranked 15th out of 17 ACC QBs in total QBR this season.
3 games in a row with 2 ints?
Umm I went to the bathroom, how did we get down 28-0?
And thatās never going to happen because Elliot is a purist from his time at Clemson. Heās not into the gimmicky schemes/offensive identities.
#HireMonken
Ur boy from Tampa threw a pick.
Yes we did. Same
Itās not really even a āPro styleā in the scheme, we run a smashmouth spread with 11 personnel and an H back. The offense that Elliott said we would run in his introductory press conference and one of the most commonly ran offenses in college football.
Weāre pro style in principle, aka we run a more conservative, pass happy version of the smashmouth spread than you generally see in the college game. Thatās where I think Des fails, I completely agree with you that AC does not fit in well with what Des wants to do in his offense. All the intermediate, slow developing passing plays are the antithesis to ACās strengths as a QB.
Dragon and I have been pounding a drum all season that this should be a run heavy, 45/25 run to pass split offense that takes advantage of Colandreaās running ability via zone reads and works off RPOās to help roll the pocket and get him in rhythm. But weāve really only seen that happen sparingly so far during Desās tenure.
The second half comeback is gonna be unreal
You canāt send him out there again. You f*cking cant.
Unbelievable. I get NDās secondary is elite. But when a QB has thrown 4 interceptions in a half, he has to be pulled. This game is obviously over. Leaving Colandrea in does him more harm than good.
And now Sanker is hurt. This could be the season if itās serious.
NO GOOD. HUGE MOMENTUM SHIFT.
To only be down 28-0 kinda nuts
Really hate that for Sanker.
The only positive is that we might play bad enough these next 3 games that we fire Elliot at the end of the season and just get ahead on hiring Monken (and he can keep the d coordinator since they are military guys).
Elliot shouldnāt be extended or kept just because we beat Pitt on their backup QB.
Spoiler alert, Elliott aint getting fired this offseason.
Yeah let me dream. Im a dreamer, but Im not the only one
Has anyone considered letting Rohde tryout for QB? First step is backwards, doesnāt turn the ball over⦠he might be the answer. (ducks)
