No. $4 million is what it would cost another school to hire Elliott – a buyout for him to leave voluntarily. He gets his entire remaining contract pay if fired without cause. I admit Mike Barber is likely more accurate than Chris Graham. But even still it looks like roughly a $13.3 million buyout after this season ends.

The actual contract reads as the buyout is if Elliott leaves. There is no buyout term if he’s fired.
