Gah that defense was absolutely abysmal. PTSD just thinking about it
That was one of the most extraordinary teams Iāve ever watched. We could be up or down 20 going into 4Q and both teams were still in the game.
Edit - I donāt remember what they were now; but there had to be some legendary O/U lines that year.
That BYU game in particular stands out. We scored at will all game and lost by 17. Defense couldnāt get a stop if its life depended on it.
Have said before, but at some point I stopped being upset and just found it kind of hilarious to watch. I kept saying to friends while watching āWhy does the other team bother trying to ākeep us honestā with the run? You can throw for 20 yards against us every play regardless of how weāre lined up. Theyāre only hurting themselves. Idiots! You could put 60 up on us.ā
I donāt remember the exact number but I remember making a killing on Virginia overs for a while during that time. Eventually around that BYU game they became ridiculous 65-70 pt lines.
The BYU game hit 80 in the first half.
I credit that game for clueing me into Puka Nacua before his rookie year.
Now that I think about it, Iāve got a dynasty team with 5 players from that game. Nacua, Allgeier, Hall, Wicks, and Woods.
Sounds like someone itching for another league to join:
@DFresh11 's cousin?
That would be routine Thursday evening for my cousins
Fresh is busy teaching us Portuguese. Iāve already google translated 3 expressions today.
Is this guy on here? Need to hang with him hahaha.
Im down to drink a case of cheap beer any day. All you have to do is ask
It was me this morning⦠i was bored.
Letās goooooooo! How we all feeling?
Finally gameday. This is a big test but one the Hoos should be able to handle. Defensively our front 4 and our safeties will have to play well to slow down the mesh offense. Safeties arenāt much of a concern as we have 2 very high level upperclassmen. The DL has to show better than they did last week, but with a healthy unit there is atleast some hope for optimism. Today weāll see what kind of stunts and variations we can run. Should be a fun test.
Offensively just play a smart game and donāt beat ourselves. Canāt turn the ball over. Last week, a downright terrible NC A&T team ran for 185 on Wake. A few years ago, Kobe Pace cleared 190 on them while at Clemson. I love watching AC make insane plays, but we gotta establish the run and pound them into the ground.
First time Iāve been nervous about a Virginia game in a long time. An absolutely winnable game but Wake wonāt roll over.
This is absolutely a statement game that could alter the course of the program for years to come. I also believe the staff know this as well. The question is how will the players react? AC rise to the moment or will he push?
In what sense are we healthy this week? Someone unavailable last week, or just same guys healing from earlier medical stuff?
Iām not sure we are healthy. Get the sense Boley might not play.
