šŸˆ Virginia at Wake Forest, W, 31-30, 2-0 (1-0 ACC), Saturday, 7 September 2024, 1900, ESPN2

Early line… I’d take the under again.

I think its a fairly even matchup and don’t think our team plays worse on the road than at home so I’ll take the pts.

I’m so intrigued by this game. Both teams likely need it to end up bowl-eligible, and it’s a great opportunity to see us against a similarly-talented ACC team on the road in a place we haven’t had much success (which could be said for anywhere, honestly).

I think between Wake and next week against Maryland we’ll have a good idea of what we have with this group.

Have a birthday dinner to attend so will be watching on tape delay. This can only mean the game will end in either miserable heartache or a close, high anxiety win. Either way, I won’t sleep

Where do you see that? Can’t find it anywhere

54 feels like a lot of points especially with a Wake team that can suck the air out of the ball.

I am in a wedding this weekend, and the bride has already issued an edict to groomsmen that she doesn’t want us sneaking in phone viewing. Bride and groom are both Hoos, so most of the wedding will be invested. I can’t wait til it all comes down to a field goal at the end and blows all of our covers when we react.

Virginia Cavaliers at Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Open: WF (-2, 48.5) | Current: WF (-2, 55)

There is no move to report on the side here, but this total saw the largest move of the day. Circa Sports opened this game with a total of 48.5 and within minutes this number was up to 55 at our home base. The consensus total has settled in at 54.5 as of Sunday evening. Totals usually never get as tight as sides do as the season progresses, but it is still shocking to see such a large move regardless.

I got married well before cell phones, so at my wedding, we all disappeared to watch a Knicks playoff game on a small TV in the coat check room. Seems like ā€œsneaking in phone viewingā€ should be considered much more socially acceptable than that. Hell, you could watch the game AND dance at the same time if you really wanted.

Yeah but she can’t police your bowel movements. Lock that stall door and fire up the game, friend. Just make sure the announcer isn’t screaming ā€œtush pushā€ or anything.

I’m counting on non-wedding party members to carry the torch. She hasn’t told them not to yet.

Best bit around this I’ve seen was at a wedding my girlfriend was in-- a bunch of big Kentucky fans the weekend they were playing Tennessee. The bride said no watching the game inside the venue, but they set up a TV on a small table just outside the venue doors by the bar that everyone could watch at. Kentucky lost but vibes were great.

I openly watched the UVA/Duke game on my phone at the reception of a cousins wedding back in 2020. For the ceremony I kept the score tracker on and was checking in.

I was the videographer at my friend’s wedding last year during the UNC game. I wasn’t worried about it because I thought we were going to get stomped, then I looked at the ESPN notifications on my watch and saw we were ahead.

Did I miss them cutting the cake when James Jackson made the game-winning interception? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not.

That was my wedding in October '92. We watched Clem kick a winning FG in the minister’s office after we were up 28-0. We were told it was time to head out to the altar as the kick was sailing through. Talk about a bitter sweet moment.

Wedding day was on June 24.

I’m not an MLB fan, so no conflicts/distractions. And no pissed off bride because half the wedding party was watching a game at the reception.

On a real tv channel, on Saturday no less. That’s nice.

Thats a big swing for an O/U. The 48.5 looks wrong even for an early line. Looks like Vegas fixed it pretty quickly

I got married during the UNC game in 2021. I had a friend providing me with score updates, which ended up being chaos with that offense and defense.

ā€œDown 3 scoresā€
ā€œWinning at the halfā€
ā€œOh yeah we lost by 20ā€

Yeah that stuck out to me as low. I’d be somewhat surprised if the total wasn’t comfortably in the 50s.

I think the higher the total goes the better for us. I like us far more in a high scoring game.
