I mean, I hear you. It’s okay to be a fan though and point out flaws. It’s a game thread, where people are reacting real time - it’s easy to say, ā€œTold you so.ā€ after the result.

Truth is we looked poor for very much of that game. We had a 4.8% chance of winning when we were down 13 going into the 4th. People (myself included) gonna react to that.

Either way, you sir are an excellent fan and likely an even better bettor if you had that W predicted. Please join in and keep us leveled (and perhaps richer) next time.

Would assume we won’t hear anything until after tomorrow’s practice.

If we don’t get that fumble, what’s the counterfactual? Wake has 1st down at our 35 with a minute to go. Probably need 10-15 yards for a FG? How much time would we need to go down the field to get into FG range with probably no timeouts left?

How dare the defense deprive AC of the opportunity to add to his young legend with a last minute game-winning drive?

Well, I didn’t think we’d ever find anything we could agree on, but I guess I was wrong.

My Virginia fandom refuses to believe there is a world that happens. I’m still kind of shocked Greene didnt recover the fumble and run itbin for a TD and seal the Wake win.

That’s the Virginia sports I know and love.

Clary diving in there and snagging that ball right out of Greene’s hands was amazing

The way he did it as all in one motion was insane. I mean just stripping and then recovering the fumble would’ve been a great play but to just straight take it was crazy.

If AC stays healthy … He will break every passing record at UVA and it will not even be close

He will also threaten a number of ACC records

Don’t know if it’s been said but I think a major key for this offense is AC’s decision making on options. In my untrained opinion he had a lot of bad keepers on read options and obviously the first drive he should’ve pitched to Pace. AC is great at ad libbing and taking off on a draw but I don’t think tucking in a read option plays to his strengths. Got us behind the chains trying to force all 160 pounds of him between the tackles

Gotta think fixable via film sessions for him

Taking the emotions out, I’m not sure how to read the game.

It’s either, 1) it was basically identical to a lot of our close ones last year but a few unlikely things broke our way, so this isn’t representative of a meaningful improvement, 2) we showed we can finally close out a game, and those things breaking our way were actually a meaningful sign of improvement.

I’m honestly not sure where I stand on it.

First time in a hot minute I’ll be eager all week to watch the Hoos play football. I’m always a little excited but not like this. I can’t wait for Saturday night

I wouldn’t be surprised if now he overcorrects and we see some bad pitches on Saturday.

Slightly embarrassed to say that I didn’t know until yesterday that Malachi Fields is a Cville local. Went to my same HS even.
