I would like to see how he does in a more salary-capped recruiting environment, but there is much to feel great about in Year 1
100% a concern but thatāll be a concern for everyone. No one has proven they can handle that world yet.
He had a lot of money this year, but he still missed on some top targets and was able to moneyball together a great roster. My bigger concern (still a small one) is that the cat is out of the bag on euros and he wonāt have a competitive advantage on that anymore.
This is also why you spend so big this past offseason. That was a marketing expense to show he can be trusted with your talent, and heās passing the test so far. Heāll have really solid proof of concept to pitch in the capped era (which I still donāt think is real but whatever!).
Heāll even have pretty compelling specific roles to point to. 5 dudes averaging double figures, 9 guys basically playing 20 minutes a game. Most of the team has had an absolutely monster game already that you can show recruits and say āthis is how weāre gonna use you and youāre gonna score 20 a game.ā Iām very bullish on recruiting going forward, however it happens to look.
I would have considered it a pretty big success if we just made the tournament this year, and now Iām in the spot where Iām getting a little picky about seeding.
The assist column in our boxscore is beautiful. Every starter with multiple assists.
Chance with 7 off the bench.
I wonder if we could squeak out a 3 seed with that resume? I guess it would depend on ACCT results
Torvik also predicts seed and based on that outcome itās a 5 seed.
And i donāt know how it predicts auto-bid but gives us a 19% chance of winning the ACCT.
I think itāll be hard only in that there will probably still be some anti-ACC bias. The league has closed the gap with the other P4 leagues and overtaken the Big East again, but with some stinkers still in the league (Pitt, BC, FSU, GT) I worry that itāll reflect in seeding for the ACC teams that do make the dance.
Thanks! For whatever reason, sharing from the YT app defaults to the link that wonāt re-direct. But changing where the period goes is much easier than changing āXā to ātwitterā.
My north star is win a game in the tourney. Thatād be great year 1. Better than that is gravy. Worse than that and it depends, but please donāt be upset in round 1.
It is because YouTube thinks its smarter than us.

5 seed for 25-6 ACC team is just absurd
Until you figure out how to convince large volumes of people that the moon landing was fake, Iām giving this one to YouTube.
Our noncon was hot garbagio
My benchmark is just be better than Louisville last year (which may not be apples to apples due to an improved ACC) so winning one isnāt as important to me, but we will almost certainly be favored in our first tournament game at this rate, so I will be upset if we lose. It would be nice to get the āhasnāt won a tournament game since the national championshipā sound bite off our back too.
I assume Tillis may be held out of Stanford game? Clearly his knee is not close to 100% and I hope he didnāt re-injure it.
Iām afraid weād have gotten waxed if we played anyone actually good in those first 5-10 games though.
Perhaps, but then thatās still the answer as to why the seed wouldnāt be better under that circumstance.
oh Iām not commenting on the seeding, Iām commenting on the scheduling which I think was fine for the circumstances
Wahoo Global Takeover is absolutely hysterical
Radio guys said that they heard Tillis say that both were his knee banging into another player: first time - knee to knee, second time - knee to head. Hurts like hell but unlikely to keep him out.
