Yeah, for the record I donāt think pressing them would have worked with their upperclassman guards but Iām not sure why we didnāt try a zone, especially given how much they were struggling shooting from the perimeter.

Got home from boys soccer game after game was over. We decided to watch the first half of this game and 2nd half of Wake game,
What a great game!!!
Turning point of the game was when iMac was on a heater and turned down a heat check and instead we got a Sahara air ball on that possession.
iMac hit one more three in the last 35 minutes after that.

Why though? So much of their offense was just dominating the post and we played it straight up all game.

It was a middle-school coach level decision to play zone. They killed us inside. Pack it in and make them shoot it Ron. Thatās what Coach Purrel would have recognized in the first half. And he was my middle school coach.
The lack of adjustments is damning. Even if you adjust things, CTB will still be your friend Ron.

Too young and soft inside. It was hand to hand combat inside and Robinson was only one willing to fight. Saunders was the weakest but Blake and Cofie were not much better. You have to work and work and fight in there to get and stay in the right positions to make the entry pass difficult.
