57.5 is a big spread especially when you combine it with a 12pt spread. And an offense that is unproven.

I think Ben York has been getting first team reps at Tackle. Not sure if itās just due to injuries or temporary while we get our transfers up to speed but our staff seems really high on him.
Am hoping for Marcellus or maybe Bracey over McDonald at LB, just not a fan of Trey. Plays hard but lacks speed and gets killed in coverage, barring him improving significantly this offseason would hope heās backing someone else up.

I think the lack of pass rush and injuries in the secondary last year really made life difficult on the LBs. I think Trey (and JJ) are better than what theyāve shown but Iām also high on Marcellus.
Re York. I think people are making too big of a deal about that. He was ālined upā with the 1s on sled drills. Idk if we can read too much into that. Sure it means the staff is high on him, which is good, but if he actually competes for a starting slot, that would really surprise me. We just have so many experienced options, even with Thomas out.

Fair enough. I would be surprised if York ends up as the opening day starter barring any more attrition (please god no more attrition) but I wouldnāt be surprised if heās right up there with the 1ās. Heās just not a proven commodity yet.
Tbh I wasnāt very high on York out of HS so a bit surprised heās making some noise. Especially more than someone like Surber.

Had a thought yesterday walking my daughter to swim yesterday and there was a nice cool breeze that made it feel like football weather. Felt like I should be on my way to a tailgate to drink 6 beers before watching the Hoos commit 95 yards od penalties and lose by 13

Iām a true football optimist and think this year will be better but frankly just speaking from experience. Seen many more games like that than wins in my lifetime.

With a 12.5 spread, thatās an implied score of 35-22.5? We beat them 43-24 at their place last season.

Hoos beat the spread easily, wouldnāt touch that over though. Just hard to predict, a 42-14 game wouldnāt top itā¦
