Delaware is a good G6 team, probably the favorite in CUSA. They gave Vandy a game for three quarters, don’t want a letdown spot here.

Calling this a must-win is a bit over dramatic, as I expect a win. But I think how they win may be more consequential. This is a great spot for the Hoos to get back in sync and show the dominance we saw in the first two games.
UD won’t be an easy out, you always have to be careful when the Dirty Birdz are around.

I don’t think must win is saying too much. This was a must win the minute it was put on the schedule. If we don’t win this, it may be an uphill struggle to get to even 6-6. Win this convincingly and that gives you way more confidence in maybe 8-4/9-3.

Agreed. I’m not sure how to phrase it because I think the term the “must win” is thrown around too much. It’s an expect to win. Because yea everything you said, and Virginia is the better team, not by the odds but man to man.
Accepting that a win is a must, I think the more critical issue is the style/look/feel of the win. Like you said, win this by double digits, in a game they control wire-to-wire and you feel confident that 8+ wins is in reach, and everything remains on course. Get stuck in a dog fight for a half then pull away, things get a little shaky especially for the staff’s critics. Let it come down to the fourth quarter or a final play, and the alarms are going off and rightfully so.
Style may be the most critical factor in this one.

Well said. I’d like to see a “get right” game and give us confidence going into a big game in Tallahassee.
FSU is probably in a lost year with Norvell almost assuredly getting fired, but they’re no slouch. Especially on the road.

Six of our remaining nine games projected to be a one possession spread. Really feels like anywhere from 6-6 to 10-2 is possible (I’d love to say 11-1 but that feels a little much to ask)
Also should be noted, even after that performance the computers still have us within a field goal of being the #2 team in the conference. Still a lot to play for. I might wait until after FSU to really believe again though
Post-Tubby era was promising initially with finally getting a FCS natty, but then inconsistent with a string of coaches who haven’t been able to sustain success. Though Carty looks really promising for them.

Yeah last year we sort of came on top of all of these type of games.
UNC, Washington State, and Louisville being the three unlikely victories we pulled out. Seemed more lucky than good in those.

I feel like every time they showed Des in the booth, it looked like he had indigestion and didn’t want to be there. LOL!
Louisville was lucky, they moved the ball on us from what I remember. Feel like our defense actually played well against UNC and Wash St to earn those wins even though the offense looked terrible.
If our defense can’t win us games this season then we’ll be fighting for 6-6

I felt like we escaped UNC with a win and got lucky for sure. They went for 2 late instead of the PAT to tie and force double OT, but they didn’t convert the 2 pt conversion
