I got Akil Mitchell in there somewhere because he’s the original alpha defender, won’t-take-any-sh!t-from-Duke guy to put on Flagg. Maybe Mamadi as a close second, but I think a key to disrupting Duke is to neutralize Flagg as much as possible.
While I was napping I had a dream that the refs favored Duke with the whistle (unlikely, but bear with me), and all our bigs fouled out. We had to play the last 6 minutes with TJ Power at the five and he made the game winning three at the buzzer.
I actually might support giving Ron the job in that scenario–but only if he gets teed up for punching Scheyer in the face.
Any loss of less that 10 points will be a moral victory, IMHO.
I’m going all offense: Jerome ‘19, Harris ‘14, Brogdon ‘16, Hunter ‘19, Scott ‘12
I know there’s no center and rebounding and inside defense will be a problem, but let’s see if Duke can outscore that lineup. Also, I kinda like Brogdon on Kon and Dre on Flagg to take away their top 2 scoring options. Even if we lose the game, it would be really fun to watch.
Assuming I can take the same player in multiple years, I’m going with 5 Kihei’s and would run a press all game.
2022-23 Kihei at PG (his highest apg season)
2019-20 Kihei at SG (his best scoring season)
2018-19 Kihei at SF
2020-21 Kihei at PF
2021-22 Kihei at C
The non-Rons will see tonight; the truth will be undeniable.

You say that now but in the moment a 3 point loss may be more painful than a 20 point loss.

I’d be thrilled with a 3-pt loss!
It’s dropping Vegas knows about the power of the Ron Train
Secretly hope our Duke guy chooses to be a man today and levels one more more Dookies.
Managers count
What’s he going to do attack them in the layup line? That’s as close as he’ll get to being on the court
Would Tony still be our coach if Kon enrolled (instead of ghosting Tony after picking Dook)?
Honestly, I think the answer is yes. He might have then bailed next year, though.
You act like we care when it happens…

If he’s still there, let’s keep the time raveling John McEnroe out of it.
