Play tight (at least) v FSU and Iāll go to 8. Also, I know thereās some movement on the back end of our schedule , in terms of opponent strength, but I havenāt followed too closely.
We know the Hokies wonāt be a pushoverā¦

Iām still in āshow meā mode as weāve blown out three bad teams and lost to the one decent team weāve played. So Iām staying conservative thinking we go 0-2 the next two weeks (FSU, @UL), hit the bye at 3-3, play strong through the āwinnableā five game stretch (Wazzu, @UNC, @Cal, Wake, @Duke) but probably still drop one in there just acknowledging the odds (7-4 going into our second bye), then play tight against VT who need/want that game way more than we do to finish 7-5.

Yeah I canāt help but feel like the ratings movement for us has all been a mirage from running the score up on bad teams. No moral victories, but looking like a team that belongs on the field with FSU this week would make me feel better. I honestly think we can beat them, I am not afraid of Castellanos, but the team talent level is just a lot higher than ours.

Itās a strange situation the Hoos find themselves in going into Friday night.
Virginia has feasted on inferior opponents. And for once they are actually putting those opponents to the sword. They are in need of a test. Unfortunately for them FSU right now is a different level and probably not a good measuring stick. This is one where the Jimmy and the Joes have the opportunity to outshine all of the Xās and the Oās.
The real bellwether of the season will be how do they bounce back against Louisville on the road. Thatās a more reasonable measuring stick of a team thatās slightly better but no out of reach.

If Morris stays upright and no more major injuries, 8. Loses to FSU,UL. Wins WSU,Wake,UNC,VT. Toss ups Cal, Duke. If the injury bug continues at itās current rate 7. Also, Wilson canāt be out for more than a week or 2

I came into the season thinking weād win the first 4, lose to FSU and UL, and then go 5-1 down the stretch (not sure which would be the loss), for 9 wins. We blew it against NCSU so now thatās 8 wins. I actually feel better about that 5-1 prediction now (VTās slide has a lot to do with that) but yeah injury is always the wild card.

UVa has this 2 lower bowl tickets for $95 deal that theyāre saying expires today. Should I jump on that or play chicken with the prices on the secondary?

I think we go to 3-3 after the next 2 but look competitive. Then the rest of the schedule is games we will be favored in or toss ups (Cal and Duke since theyāre on the road). Duke is going to be the toughest out of those imo given how good Mensah is. Cal will be tough because of travel and their QB is really solid too. Need to at least split those and then beat UNC and VT to get to 8 wins.
Will be very interesting to follow VT over the next week as they could lose a lot of players to the portal. I will always be nervous because of history but on paper thatās a game I wouldnāt be scared about if they had another name lol

We called a timeout on the first snap out of halftime on Saturday. We arenāt winning any more games.

Thatās where I am. Expect losses to FSU and Lāville ā¦ think we regain our momentum after ā¦ VT will be a jump ball.

my freshman year and first game at Scott everā¦.got to take a part of the goal post back to our dorm with a crew of folks! Just amazing. Then FSU fans throwing Oranges at us on the field because we were mock tomahawk chop chanting them. So good.
EDIT: wrong game! I was thinking of the Warrick Dunn/Poindexter game in 1995. Ha, Iām way old.

Brother, when they are THIS bad, there is very little I enjoy more than celebrating their downfall lol.
But in the context of this particular post, Iām hoping for a mass exodus. I want JC Price lining up at nose tackle because they have so many players leaving
