Not mad at the timing. A little pre-leftovers dinner aperitif.
Going from playing my wife’s alma mater to my parents in consecutive games.
Holy Cross just lost 80-55 to Maine….
So 2 possession game with 10 minutes left?
I kid I kid … or do I?
I don’t think we’re doing a blog preview for this one.
Holy Cross is a very young team. Dave Paulson is the coach, formerly of George Mason and Bucknell. His 2nd year at Holy Cross, he’s passed on the portal to rebuild from the ground up. Three freshman start, and most of the rotation is made up of underclassmen.
They’re 4-3 on the year, coming off a horrible 80-55 loss at Maine. However, they have shown pretty well in their two games playing up in competition. They had halftime leads over Wisconsin and Rhode Island before those teams eventually pulled away for comfortable wins.
They’ll live and die by the 3, shooting 38% on high volume, 10+ makes four times already. Nearly every player in the rotation is a shooting threat. Typical Patriot League team, not very big or athletic. Statistically, they’ve been really bad on defense.
It’s a homecoming game of sorts for guard Caleb Kenney (10.8 PPG), Richmond native is their only senior.
Oh we are soo cooked. Also a game where we will go away from posting up Cofie/Buchanan to playing Saunders at the 5 to match them instead of being the aggressor.
Yeah the green beans and gravy got me in bad spirits today
5’10 and a bunch of 6’6 guys. Not sure Blake can hang, but start him and see. Put me in the minority, but I’d like to see Power get real run at the 4.
I’ve always thought that Paulsen was a really good coach. Really good hire for Holy Cross.
I really thought he was gonna be good at Mason. Though looking back, perhaps a fair amount of his Bucknell success was about having a NBA player going against Patriot League competition. Which he should get credit for in some ways, of course.
Hoos only -16.5. Same as Manhattan.
He always recruited well at George Mason finding under the radar players i.e. Tyler Kolek (2024 NBA draft pick), Jordan Miller (Miami Final Four starter), Josh Oduro, AJ Wilson, etc. His Mason teams never defended though. That was main issue from what I remember.
Does anyone know how quickly after a game is over that ESPN makes the replay available on their app?
In my experience, it’s unpredictable. Usually within a few minutes to half an hour, though. Sometimes an hour or two. On at least one occasion is still wasn’t up the next day.
Is the replay available to the general public or does it require a subscription?
