I think weāre going to look back at this period and realize that the Tides Inn isnāt actually all the bad of a place. This program needed a reset.

Respectfully, I donāt think that is even a particularly notable difference between them. Itās true, but itās just trying to hand wave away McKneely being nowhere near the impact player that Guy was.
Guy had off nights but he didnāt disappear. He was always insanely aggressive hunting shots, kept shooting, kept doing anything he could to win a game. He also made clutch free throws, was a vocal leader on the court, etc. McKneely is justā¦. out there, much of the time. Yeah they both shoot the three very very wellā¦ thatās about it. Thereās so much more to basketball and leading a team than that. Thereās a reason Guy was an All American and McKneely isnāt even briefly discussed at that level.
