8 man rotation or does Gertrude/Carrere get promoted to spot #9?

I think you see at least Carrere for 6+ minutes. I think Hall and Mallory have really good games.

Think we go 8. Miami’s 3/4s way too athletic for Martin. If anything it will be some Sam. At the 4 with Gertrude getting some mins.

You’re skeptical of what?

  1. that that’s their Ken Pom defensive rating (it is)
  2. that Kenpom D rating is a good measure of defense?
  3. that it’s a good measure of Louisvilles defense?
  4. Something else?

This is good stuff on Tillis. He provides so much more value to us when he’s looking at (facing) the basket. Stretches the floor yet skilled enough to make the right play. Hope he heals up quickly and keeps playing like he did Wednesday night.

Going to need 30+ from TDR. He’s reined in the fouls over the last stretch, but got to believe Miami will be attacking him.

I think it depends on how the game is called. If we get in foul trouble early . . . it could be problematic.

Miami has SIZE. Will be interesting what we do.

Torvik – Virginia 13, Louisville 28. Plus, eye test. I don’t buy it. I don’t buy it AT ALL. But we can agree to disagree, right?

I ask this without any knowledge of the answer, but what have they been in ACC play?

I don’t actually care, honestly; I was just commenting. I am not an analytics guru, so I believe you.

Agree or disagree on what? I was trying to get you to clarify what you were skeptical about. I agree it doesn’t really matter.

FWIW, Miami is slightly better in the conference only defensive rating than Louisville, so Miami will be the best defensive team we have played in conference:

Unless I am missing something Miami doesn’t play Louisville until March 7th.

Edit: At any rate defense will clearly be the war we need to win. I think we can agree: Go Hoos!

I think Gertrude gets some run, but doubt it would be all of Tillis’ mins. I kind of hope Carrere gets some play because it would mean Odom was not as discouraged as much as I was by what we saw Wednesday.

Eli will pick up some minutes; look for him to be active in passing lanes and hopefully drive

He’s still out on the floor hyping the team up. Will miss him today but rather he ensures that he’s healthy for the tourney

I guess I will have to wait to see the court dedication; I can’t find it.
