šŸˆ Virginia vs North Carolina, L, 41-14, 4-4 (2-3 ACC). Saturday, 26 October 2024, 1200, the CW

I’m not not worried about the losses, don’t get me wrong. Fields, Sanker, Clary, Neville, Bennett and Stevens are big losses to be sure.

But if these are all of our losses, we’re probably above average in returning production, especially on offense.

Minter and Hardy seem promising at safety. I like Twitty at TE. McDonald’s gotten a lot of experience this season at LB. I’m looking at JR Wilson, Greene, Courtney and Harrison to step up at WR. Maybe Furnish moves back to C and Witmer moves to guard. X Brown is ready to take the lead back role from Pace.

CB has Jam Jackson and Dre Walker. We’ll need some more depth there.

DL is a concern for sure, so maybe the portal. But we’re not getting much pressure without blitzing with this unit, so I don’t know if new guys would be any worse.

And I’m sure we’ll find a competent punter. We always seem to be able to find one.

I haven’t looked at the guys coming off injury or the new recruits yet either.

Harrison was a monster for me in my CFB25 dynasty

Don’t need stars. Just depth and guys who can compete!

The downside of losing the safeties is that they’re good whereas the corners… arguably aren’t. Sure, they’ll probably get better, but if they don’t improve a lot and the safeties next year aren’t great, the pass coverage could be very rough.

The problem for the corners IMO is a lack of speed. That isn’t really something you can teach… they’ll either need to continue to recruit competitive depth or need to throw in a lot more zone looks.

That’s my biggest fear about the corners. The technique isn’t bad, but they are slow for P4 corner and as a result occasionally get beat

Gotta have quick hips there

It’s been my biggest gripe defensively by a mile. And I like/think Rud is doing a pretty good job… the fact that we can’t line up any way other than with 8 yards of cushion is ridiculous. Even worse that they’ve been beat over the top a number of times still.

Yup it’s insane waychingthe cushions they have to give. But credit to Rud dialing up somw pressure packages that have masked some of that.

They got them thick ankles @CavTex

Another UVA football Facebook memory for everyone.

unc 2014

And lose UVA did. Falling to UNC 28 - 27. The onside kick in question occurred after backup QB Mitch Trubisky threw a TD pass to put UNC ahead with 4 mins to go in the 4th quarter. UNC lined up for a normal kickoff but … WHOOPS … it’s an onside kick! The UVA defense actually forced a 4th down FG attempt with about a min ago but were called for an illegal substitution penalty giving UNC a first down.

The hill is Open For the remainder of the season all ticketed fans may access the hill as capacity allows.

Didn’t take long before that trend ended.

For this year, it really doesn’t matter.

Let’s revisit this next year when faced with the prospect of a hill full of Hokies.

I’m fine with the VT game being the exception. Honestly think that should always be the case. But the original rules they laid out were overkill and stupid

Oh totally agree, if folks want to crowd the hill for UR or BC, let 'em.

Thom Brennaman on the call, expect some deep drives to left field in this game.

Whoa, Thom Brennaman on the play-by-play. :flushed:

Didn’t realize he was still working.

Furnish is also out. Patterson and Nnanna starting at the guard spots.
