The interesting** divide amongst posters in the Butler thread was whether the weaknesses in our defense were more chemistry/cohesion/time or physical limitations.
** the uninteresting one was our evergreen topic: complainIng- yea or nay?
Without preseason priors it is 103. I know it is adj for comp but still that is very very bad considering our comp.
Queens has made 40 threes the last 3 games on 43% shooting. Also shooting 81% FTs
But where in New York can one find a woman of grace, elegance, taste, and culture? A woman suitable for a king?

Either way, I would expect Odom to make the necessary adjustments. The Packline was created by Dick Bennett to compensate for deficiencies in athleticism. Odom should be able to find a scheme that best suits the skills and abilities and work toward optimizing that scheme. But man, after Bennett ball for 15 years, it is pretty frustrating to see the team so flummoxed by simple ball screens. I havenāt seen any high hedges and Chance is the only one that seems to anticipate the screen and try to step through it pre-emptively. Reece was fantastic at that, Kihei really good too.
Looks like weāre playing knockoff Queens, Queens NC (Queens University of Charlotte)
Queens, North Carolina?!

Queens NY is named after Catherine of Braganza, wife of Charles II.
Queens University is named after Charlotte (naturally) of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of āMadā King George.
But in digging to this, Iām very upset over this misuse (or archaic use?) of the plural here. I was promised multiple Queens!
Shoutout to Freddie mercury for his usage of the singular.

I ran a marathon years ago that originated at Queens College and ended at Davidson College⦠itās the only reason I knew it was in Charlotte. UNC-Charlotte there as well⦠so a lot of colleges.
I officiated a couple of games at Queens years ago. Really enjoyed their gym.
While everyone else is whining about the defense ā yes, itās terrible ā and campaigning for a total defensive system reboot, the offense is actually more important. This team will only go as far as the offense will take us. Against Butler, we shot 41% from the field and 30% from deep. Thatās atrocious. We lost to Butler not because Butler scored 80 on us. We lost to Butler because we couldnāt score 80 on them.
De Ridder, who seemed shocked by Butlerās physicality, was anything but a ātankā. He shot 4-10 including 1-3 from deep and only went 1-4 from the FT line. Lewis shot 3-8 including 0-3 from deep. Mallory went 4-13 including 0-3. Hall was 0-3. Grünloh was 1-4. Ugo was 1-6.
Malik Thomas (9-17) and Jacari White (5-7) are really the only ones who shot well, and they were defensive turnstiles.
While Queens wonāt tell us much ā except maybe who over-indulged on Thanksgiving ā Iād like to see better ball movement and better shot selection. Despite moments of brilliance that give you hope, the offense has not yet gelled.
Two things to watch against Queens:
Assists: Virginia, currently ranked at 114th in the country (and dropping fast) in assists per game with just 15, notched only 6 assists against Butler. Can they improve at sharing the ball and finding the open shot?
Defensive fouls: Virginia is currently ranked an abysmal 281st in the nation in fouls per defensive possession. Virginia fouls on 25% of their defensive possessions. If youāre hearing whistles in your nightmares, thatās why. Can Virginia defend without fouling quite as much?
In DeRidder 's defense, it looked like he had a massive headache. There was blood in the white area of his right eye and Iām not sure how well he could see out of it.
Weāll get better I promise. You have to remember we basically all just transferred in from other message boards, and itās only November.
By the time march rolls around we will hopefully be able to see with your level of clarity and insight why we missed the tournament.
Thank goodness we have you around tu explain the FACTS tu us in the meantime.
Youāre welcome. But Iād be remiss if I didnāt point out that you have several typos in your post that need addressing.
The jokeās on you.
Your wax is melting there, boss.
Soā¦youāre saying you see what I did there.
Sometimes I think I should just become a Bond villain.
