Interesting odds. Wish I had looked at them before the AC announcement.

I’ll withhold my thoughts until Friday.

Does ACCX just mean you can stream through the ESPN app so long as you have a cable subscription with ACCN?

Gotta say being in the heart of sec country i am very excited about college football season being here and i was so so happy to see GaTech destroy fsu up front all game. However the amount of Clemson shyt and Usce makes me a bit nauseous. We gotta win the ones we are supposed to and the first one is this Saturday!!!

Maybe I’m crazy but it’s not a bad looking 2-deep.

Offense: miss JR Wilson as a big target opposite Malachi, but hopefully he’s got a speedy recovery. Still don’t love Furnish at RG, but the rest of the OL looks solid if healthy. RB depth is worrisome after Pace.

Defense: Miss the depth we would’ve had with Buchanan at DE and Bracey at LB, but otherwise no obvious complaints, especially if James Jackson is at 90% or better. Add: Missing Ben Smiley, sounds like he’s injured, hopefully he’s back for Wake, have big hopes for him this year.

ST: Problem has been less the personnel and more the coaching, so we’ll just have to see.

First reactions, I know that JR Wilson would likely be there if not for injury but I’m a little disappointed that Jayden Gibson/Titus Ivy/Ty Coleman have all been surpassed by walk-on Eli Wood on the WR depth chart (unless they’re all dealing with injuries of their own).

Other than that everything looks to be about what I expected in terms of starters, Furnish at RG still gives me concern but we’ll see how it plays out. Excited to see that Ethan Minter has already worked his way into the discussion in the secondary, he looked good in the spring game. And really hoping James Jackson has improved in coverage, good athlete but man he struggled on passing downs last season.

Actually another name not on there was Ben Smiley, TE saying it’s a short term injury in his press conference.

Billy Koudelka is a freak athlete. Could be on a Patrick Kerney type path. Played 8 man football in high school at VES.

Yeah 6’8 former lacrosse player who is already on the two deep as a 1st year definitely raises intrigue. Just needs to put on some weight.

He’s gonna be special once it all clicks. Making the 2 deep already shows it’s falling into place for him. Love that he’s getting blooded in week 1 in preparation

Had the same reaction. It’s a pretty decent looking group. I don’t see why they can’t win 6 games but I get the trepidation. That WF game really is so crucial

The issue is gonna be depth. 1st team looks pretty damn good right now but how many of these guys aren’t gonna be listed by game 6/7/8 due to injuries and how ready are the guys on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string gonna be. A good bill of health for most of the season and I could see us surprising a lot of people, but that doesn’t seem to happen too often in this sport.

Not gonna lie it’s slightly disheartening to see some of Elliott’s recruits getting beat out by walk-ons, even if some are special circumstances like Koudelka. It’s where having multiple lackluster recruiting classes in a row really kills you.

Yeah the new recruiting is bleak… I actually don’t understand how a guy who had the success he did as an assistant can recruit so badly. There is no reason for it to have gotten worse under Elliott than Bronco, its very troubling.

Does he recruit with the Clemson way bullshit and it just doesn’t fly here?

I think that was the case when Elliott first arrived and he’s learned to adjust his pitch. The classes are trending better with the 25 class actually looking like a reapectable class.

Yeah the recruiting picked up a little bit this cycle. The baseline of our class was raised, we’re not taking as many fliers as we did the first 2-3 years. Main problem is we’re still missing out on virtually all of our splash prospects, outside of Kam Robinson there’s nobody Elliott’s gotten a commit from that really makes you go ā€œWOW we got that guy?ā€.

That’s been the difference between us and VT. The bulk of our prospects are mostly the same quality, but they’re landing 3-4 4 stars that headline the top of their class while we don’t.
