No chance that Bond winds up as our 3? Certainly seems he could guard opposing 3s, and slash on O - but not a shooter really

Leon could be the answer to who our 2nd lockdown perimeter defender (outside reece) is

The only dim spot I saw last night for Bond was that on several occasions when he received a pass away from the basket, he looked like someone who wanted to get rid of the ball immediately lest something bad may happen.

Maybe first game jitters and he will overcome, but not a good look for someone if he were playing the three.

Bond’s most obvious player comp at UVa is Sam Hauser (I know, obvious, right?), in that they both must have gotten some sort of Wisconsin power forward indoctrination to turn and post the moment they have the ball inside the three point line, and they both need to use that skill when it makes sense, rather than ALL. THE. TIME.

Am I crazy for seeing just a dwindle of Jayden Gardner in him… at least his role and offensive style(just a tiny bit).

I know there’s a ton of differences but feel like he could be a Gardner that doesn’t have the massive limitations.

When Bond first came in the game he was nervous and it showed but once he hit a couple of shots he settled down. We probably won’t see him flirting with a double double in most games but we got to find ways to use him. He was sort of like Dunn last year. He brought energy and just caused havoc with his defense and hitting the boards. He makes good shit happen

He reminds me of Anderson early his first year. Combo G/F, long, athletic, chaos agent on the glass and on defense. Once he develops the touch and rhythm, watch out.

He’ll be perfect against a guy like Coleman.

I have no idea if we’ll see it, or not, but I can envisage scenarios where Rohde is paired at the 3 with Buchanan, and Bond plays the 3 when Groves is on the floor. At least, it does seem a bit logical, if not obvious, to me.

Honestly what impressed me most about bond above all the little things he did to impact the game is how pure his jumper looked. He’s butter from inside the arc

Well we were a #1 seed in 2019 when Devon Hall was NOT there…and of course won the championship…

Of course hypotheticals lack counterfactuals and so can be debated forever …

… but if you subtract Devon Hall from the 2018 roster with no additions to offset that, then I feel confident saying that we wouldn’t have been a #1 seed.

I actually think in the situation that Bond and Dunn play together that Dunn has a *little bit more of a 3 skillset than Bond at the moment, and Bond is playing the energy 4 that Dunn played last year.

So offensively Bond would play the 4, and then defensively he is long enough to *maybe play the 4 as well.

Bond is more Justin Anderson without the shot, than Jayden Gardner at the moment. Jayden really had a refined interior game and Bond is much more of a slasher.

I would like to see a lineup of Beeks/Imac/Dunn/Bond/Groves

3 elite defenders and athletes, 2 good shooters. They cover each others mistakes.

re-watched the 1st half and here is my in depth analysis.
Shoe colors:
Taine = mint green/aqua
Dunn = neon green
Reece = red
Harris = all white
Imac = pink
Rohde = orange (winner)

I have been saying for months that people should be ready for Bond’s mid-range pull-up jumper. It was his go-to his last year in high school. It already looked sweet then.

What I’m really saying is that I am always right! (Do not fact check this)

Biggest take away for me in this kind of game (and a few people already said) is we ended it early. Game was out of reach enough that when Tarleton did get any sort of run it was from like 28 down to 20 down or whatever.

Finally enough that we could sorta try some things like RD at point or whatever

Biggest takeaway for me … our opponents will continue to hit ridiculous end of shot clock 3 point bank shots this season. I am mentally prepared (unless Duke does it).

Has been what I always notice from him in practice etc. as someone said, kinda reminds you of Rodman ha

LOL… that one in the second half was ridiculous. I don’t even think the shooter thought it was going in and it was great defense to boot.
