Let him get his and try to shut down everyone else. He’s going to score 20-30. We have to accept that much. (reminds me a little of the Miami game last year with Norchad Omier getting his and everyone else for them being meh)
Only Buchanan and Robinson on Dixon. We cannot afford for Saunders and Cofie to get into foul trouble.
Also poll: Does Rohde start? (not what you want but what you think)
I like Buchanan on Dixon, but the way they line up Saunders will start on him. I’m hoping Saunders can really show his ability to guard the 3 so they can go to the Saunders Cofie Blake look in this one.
Dixon is playing next to Boakye a lot, so that points to Saunders matching up against him. He’s taking too many threes for me to feel good about sticking the true bigs on him.
On Taine and Sharma, I voted Taine initially, and then I remembered Ron saying post-game that the great thing about failure is that it allows the game to show who he can trust on the court.
Basketball game threads will auto publish 0800 EST the day after every game this season… I’ll move these comments over to that one once it appears.
This but also it’s not weird. Let the first years play, I’m not ready to give up on Taine yet after one bad game but also Sharma/Cofie come in there willing and ready to shoot the ball.
Yea, Brown too on their team is very good. And Rasheer Fleming got a mention in the Athletic’s start of season “this is what we are hearing from scouts” article.
To be fair I imagine the intensity and energy is different in these Philly on Philly match ups. Like how the Hokies unlock 4 extra levels of talent against UVA in football
Providence needed some opening night heroics to beat Central Connecticut too though. Early season college hoops is just funky, even more so these days, teams are on different time frames.
The Big 5 Tournament is legit… I had an uncle go to Drexel, cousin go to Penn, great uncle go to La Salle… they don’t talk to each other during the Big 5 tournament week…
