100% agree
This is still my favorite W. W.
PBP - Fake Doug E Fresh
Color - Seth Greenberg
Already nervous⦠I just want a fun few days on this board and to not have to accept the reality of being swept by Tech in a season
I donāt think heās āFake Doug E Freshā except when heās paired with Cory.
Unlessā¦
SETH: āYo Doug E. Fresh, I got a question for you: Who was the coach at Virginia Tech the first time Tony Bennett coached in this rivalry game? Youāre gonna have to go back a little bit but Iāll give you a hint: he had more hair back then! [laughs] Iāll go ahead and tell you: the coach back then was a young coach by the name of Seth Greenberg. But I lied, I didnāt have any hair back then either! [laughs] And Iāll tell you something, I won that game. Now Iām no Tony Bennett or Mike Young, but I did win that time around. Of course if you ask me, I won all my games [laughs], thatās how I remember it anyway. [laughs again] Hey did you know Isaac McKneely went to Poca High School in West Virginia? Doug E. Fresh, youāre gonna love this next questionā¦ā
Me when we play Dunn and Bond at the 3/4 and switch everything to limit as many open 3s as possible
Me when we hedge with groves and scramble and spend the entire game running closing out on all their 3pt shots
I get fall semester grades tomorrow EOD so that coupled with this game could lead to an all time bad evening
Good luck on the grades. I still wake up in the middle of the night wondering if I have enough credits to graduate : )
Was re-watching the Syracuse game trying to figure out why our offense was so free-flowing and was creating so many great/open 3s.
Canāt figure out what has changed from Dec 2 to Jan 13.
We appear to be running the same sets - Dunn was on the wing and did make a few drives. But iMac and Rohde were shooting from VERY deep. Maybe thatās the key, we need to shoot further out from the lane? Ball was moving quickly. Never got stuck.
Also, watching that game, it is clear that we should at least try the Reece, Eli, Bond, Dunn, Blake lineup once. That is likely our lineup of death. Theyāre our quickest players. And most active defenders. Would be fun to see what that group could do on both ends. Maybe play at a faster pace and try to get some run outs.
Go Hoos. Play free. Have fun. Beat Tech.
Defensively I like it but offensivley there are no shooters. Spacing would be terrible. The only somewhat credible 3pt threat there would be Reece
Bro. All the time.
Do you guys think maybe we got the wrong Rohde?
I hear you on the offense, but believe this lineup would be able to create more 1v1 / slash type of offense. Touch the paint and dish or lob/finish. Also believe that Reece, Eli and RD can hit 3s.
Also, it isnāt like our current offense is generating great looks. Perhaps letting 5 athletic guys who can create space for themselves might work.
All a moot point because Tony will probably never try it. But I wish he would. Try it for 4 - 8 minutes and letās see what happens. My guess is we would win that 4-8 minutes. Might be 6 to 4, but believe that lineup would win against most opponents.
Go HOOS. Play free. Have fun. Beat Tech
Dan proly an Rohdes scholar too ā¦
Andrew could have gone to law school but no way Dan could have beaten TAMU
You pass Torts bro?
Torts was last year - got a 3.8
You seeing something different than me lol. On the season Reece is at 29%, Dunn 21%, Elijah is at 9.1%(!)
Since Junior High I never knew grades went that high. Good work hometeam. Now you can coast this spring and enjoy the unenjoyable Durham. (Kidding)
I get what you are trying to do with athleticism, but that lineup might produce 2 points in those 4 minutes. Not a single shooter or creator among them. Then again, we donāt really have any shot creators. Maybe Dante, watching helplessly from the bench.
Edit: Eli will be a shot creator. I believe, but not at the moment.
Itās been years since Iāve had that dream, but Iāve definitely had it multiple times! What a hilarious nightmare on reflection.
