Time to get back in the saddle! New streak begins Tuesday!
Still cant believe Juke would actually stay with Forbes if he doesn’t go pro.
Loyalty and Human Connection are fatal drugs
Juke worries me. We have a glaring tendency to allow excellent guards to go off on us. Wake is terrible on the road as a team, though.
All I can say is, I feel sorry for Wake coming into our house after these guys got a beat down in Durham. These guys are going to come out hard and focussed.
Celtics had a stinker this week vs Denver and then proceeded to set the all time NBA record for EFG% in a game their next game against Nets…
Would be great to see a similar pattern.
I hope that is the case because we need to come out with our hair on fire and press the sheet out of this Wake team that isn’t deep. Let’s make sure that there is no question in the first 5 minutes who the better team is. Don’t give them any hope and by the time the bench mob has worked their magic, let’s lead by double digits.
Id trade another stinker (in a Win) tomorrow for a historic performance on Saturday.
Let’s roll out the red carpet for Juke Harris tomorrow. Show him how he’d slot as the lead scorer in a lineup that (hopefully) returns 3/5 starters and is preseason top 10.
That was insane. Then Pritchard goes scoreless last night in 27 minutes. Go figure.
Looking forward to tomorrow night. It will be a really great night if the Wake game is even half what the NCSU game was. A blow out win in a game that had it all… an in-game scuffle, a nasty Gertrude dunk, and bacon for everybody to top it off. I even left JPJ that night thinking Grünloh’s testicles had finally dropped. Still not sure about that last one, but a helluva night, nevertheless.
And yet they still beat Philly by double digits because a Onyenso went crazy!!! (Queta)
Possible Myles Colvin audition as well. And hope Quentin Coleman is watching at home.
Man Wake’s defense has fallen off a CLIFF. 220+ in DE over recent games. Allowing opponents a ridiculous eFG%. Bad rebounding team.
Their offense has improved a bit - up to 33rd in OE over last 10. But nowhere near enough to compensate.
Wake gives up a lot of 3s (#351 in defensive 3P rate) and has bad rim protection (#309 in defensive 2P%, #299 in defensive rim%). Their frontcourt pairings are small (Spillers and Biliew) or kinda frail (Schweiger and anyone). We can hurt them if they end up needing to choose between giving up kick-out 3 vs our bigs rolling.
When Wake is on offense, Juke and Colvin all get to do things with the ball in their hands. Juke is obviously the star, but they miss Calmese (out for the season - ankle) who had some off-the-dribble 3s in his bag. Spillers is a classic efficient (if a bit undersized) finishing big man. They aren’t so great at getting rim attempts with their lack of size, so if we can turn some of their 3s into long 2s, we should be OK.
Depth is an issue, Juke and Spillers are all solid by RAPM (and Marion too, in limited minutes), but the rest of their rotation does not grade out well. PG is an especially weak spot without Calmese; both Akins and Carr don’t look up to the level.
Win tonight clinches #2 seed in the ACC tournament, right?
Correct or UNC loss I think same difference
A UNC loss wouldn’t do it because Miami could still pass and finish 14-4 with us 13-5 and Clemson could win a tiebreaker on us at 13-5 depending on other results, let’s just win.
I can’t imagine how this team doesn’t come out angry and on fire in this game. No way Odom is gonna allow it. Hoos by 22.
We should win so big they reconsider letting Forbes hang around
