I went with the loss because I feel like most of these bowls are just about the season you had to get there, no one remembers the result. Plus bowl season is almost a separate season on its own, not always representative. Itās the most meaningless game of the seasonā¦unless itās one of the big ones of course.
Assuming weāre talking about 8 wins with a bowl loss I agree. As much as I want to see the Hoos win the Sun Bowl or the Pop Tart Bowl, it wonāt make or break my opinion on the season if the Hoos get to 8 wins before they get there.
Iād probably rather lose a Pop Tart bowl than win an AL East Bowl.

Iām riding with 8, even though Iām a lot less optimistic than I was 5 days ago. Itās also what I think this roster / coaching staff need to deliver to be a semi-success. 7 wins with this schedule is 5 or 6 with a normal schedule - not good enough.

I never really understand this perspective. When you have as few games as football does, the actual outcome of the game matters more than how you feel we played.
To get to 8 wins now, we have to win the gimmes and most (all? I donāt have the schedule in front of me) of the 50-50sā¦
It also sort of ignores the defensive concerns
Need to go 3-1 in the remaining 50/50s to win 8 (or pick off one of FSU or Louisville and go 2-2) while winning all the gimmes.
The way to make it work is that some or all of the 50-50s arenāt actually 50-50s, but itās too early to know that.
Eventually theyāll either be 1s or 0s!
