Some more Darren Harris to portal smoke.
Maryland was his runner up out of Hs
Haven’t watched any highlights of Conerway, why is he rated so highly? Appears he can’t shoot 3s or free throws
Watch the Conerway tape - gets me excited to have him in our back court. And his % may be lousy but the boy can hit 3’s from deep
3 steals a game, 57% on 2pters. Probably the best defensive guard in the portal
I’d be stoked to get him. Ole Miss worries me the most of that list
And only 18% of his makes at the rim are assisted, so he’s getting his own.
What’s Caleb Foster going to do next year?
Which is what we’ve needed/lacked for awhile. A lead G who can tell everyone to get the hell out of his way, put his head down, and get a bucket or get fouled. Teams who have this have way fewer 4-5 minute scoring droughts than we do.
Probably Memphis or Miami
I’m a little skeptical of whether he can get to the rim against better competition, he didn’t jump out to me as overly athletic, more so able to bully his way to the rim. But if he’s an elite defender then I want him regardless and I’m probably wrong about his ability to get to the rim anyways
Super smooth / great first step / great cutter. I’d take a longer look against better comp. if it gets serious.
His ATH reminds me of Reece but what do I know?
Reece had that sneaky explosiveness this kid doesn’t seem to have, but I see it a bit in the way they glide into the lane.
Alright but the ATH indicators point the same way. You don’t get 3 steals a game without being quick.
Well it might still be sneaking up on you
True true. With Reece, I was thinking more hops / explosiveness getting up to the rim.
How can anyone question someone’s athletic profile with the roster uva trotted out this year.
Hell the last 2-3 years.
We were pitifully unathletic across the board and only Tony’s coaching kept us afloat.
We have to remember that the type of kids we’ve taken in the past and what we are going to be in for now will be completely different. It’s an adjustment for all of us to look at kid’s numbers and realize this is what works in college bball right now and this is where we need to go to be successful.
Yea man. Its not like Clayton at Florida seems crazy athletic even
This Troy kid is solid
From the Pat Forde story a few days ago:
“* Then-Iona coach Rick Pitino never saw Clayton play in person, only Zoom workouts, before offering him a scholarship. (His reported first appraisal: ‘Fat, slow and can’t shoot … but he can pass.’)”
