Do Virginia players withdrawing from the portal count as “commitments”?
We were in his graphic. But hes a lower left quadrant guy
Announcement soon id guess
Feels like it’s a good sign when a recruit drops a top contenders list immediately after their visit
I’d assume he’s still there
Certainly not a bad sign in the very least!
Even better. Dropping a list while ON the visit is a good sign imo
UVA Law kicks all those other law schools’ asses!

We’ve gotta be on commitment watch, no?
No new follows but he posted this last night at like midnight (end of day 1 of his UVA visit)
I think that was just getting out ahead of his final list. We’ll see if he goes to Notre Dame, if anyone there finds out anyway.
Good list from an agent’s point of view. 2 schools he’s visited, one that’s trying really hard and he might be visiting, and 2 with deep pockets to keep in play as leverage.
And this recruitment was active way ahead of the bell, if there was any doubt. Odom ain’t Bennett. He plays the game.
Probably someone he’s had an eye on since VCU played New Mexico if not when Odom was at Utah St (Davidson was coming off the bench then though).
Good to know our coach is a tamperer too. It’s a part of the game now.
I thought it was generally the thought that if they leave grounds w/o a commit that’s a bad sign? And presumably this list implies he isn’t committing
Edit: obviously anything is a bad sign relative to a commit, but the thought being we’ve used our “shot”
Usually when a kid puts out the “top 5” or final 4 or whatever, they usually have a school in mind.
In this era, I doubt we’ll see quick/emotional commitments coming out of visits. Even if a kid has made up his mind, you can guarantee the agent is going to shop final offers elsewhere before anything is firmed up.
This is just my thinking, but if I was a young man who had an opportunity to go to UVA law school then, clearly:
Present Value of Income stream from UVA law school > any NIL value
Maybe NIL isn’t the primary variable for him?
For the most part, the NIL side of the equation is done before the visits. It’s more of a narrowing tool. You’ve agreed to something roughly in the range of what his agent is asking in advance, or you don’t get a visit. But then at the end, it can come up again, prices can rise, sometimes.
Knowing nothing of his academic bonafides, would the UVA Law School (or Darden) relax entry standards for an athletic recruitment?
As a Darden grad, I would say that the school really likes athletes and especially UVA athletes. So not sure if they are relaxing their standards; they simply like having folks with top level sports experience in the class.
From the past discussion on the boards. No there will be no special treatment for ATH for grad students outside of the Ed School.
