Every couple years thereās a discussion about a UVa hooper going to one of UVaās professional schools (Biz, Law, Med). It hasnāt happened so far as Iām aware, here or anywhere else (with UVa caliber academics in those professional schools) in high major hoops, in decades. Maybe Iām forgetting one. And I donāt see that trend reversing given the financial stakes now involved.
If we are talking about Davidson, I thought I read he wanted Law School after a hoops career, so itās a bit moot.
First reaction from ISU fans (Cluff top portal big between Iowa St and Purdue, the train emoji is Purdue fans taunting Cluff for the old people out there)
ā¦is our new staff checking Evan Miya (or some equivalent service)? They are getting in on some plus-minus darlings without necessarily a clear connection otherwise.
Iowa Stateās portal approach is comparable to Purdueās overall approach. All about culture fitsā¦portal adds are role players. He wants guys that come in with the right background that will totally buy in. Virginia guys, perfect. Their job is to complement the main pieces, which are usually going to be homegrown.
Blake and Rohde feel like pretty good guys to āstay goodā but maybe not the kind of guys Otz needs to live up to his seeding.
I thought folks got a bit negative on Blake. He needs a healthy offseason and some more weight room work. He didnāt get it this past year. Plus he is a good passer and a very switchable big.
I swear his push shot hit the same spot on the rim every time. Heās going to improve. Blake needed to shirt like most bigs and play 10-15 this year as a RS freshman. Good luck convincing kids to do that now.
