One of the most decorated players ever to come to UVA. Pretty sure he’s the reason why Kobe wore #24 (I could be wrong there). Averaged 10 points as a junior as UVA transitioned over to Pete Gillen. Was there in Minny as the Hoos cut down the nets. He has seen the lows and highs of being a Hoo. Including the strangest game in my memory in 1997, UVA vs Duke (highlights below). We were up 1 with 10 seconds left…Ref forgets to let the subs in…duke runs down the court in mass confusion and somehow gets fouled and wins the game at the free throw line…Would love to hear from Willie on that game…
