We beat Oregon in the Sweet 16 with defense. I’d argue defense was key in the Auburn game as well. Low 60s for that Auburn team and style is solid.
Thank you so much sir.
FACTS and so far no. Look at our tu offers.
Well I agree with all that. Playing time has to be earned. If Morsell can be excellent on defense and become competent on offense, he’ll see his fair share of minutes.
I am definitely a believer in “good enough” defense and not spending gobs of practice time making an elite defense even better at the expense of offense. But this team has a ways to go reach the minimum standard on the defensive end. The switches have been slow, communication a bit poor, closeouts slow, and transition defense abysmal. Morsell can definitely forge a role on this team with his defensive ability. It’ll at least get him enough minutes to get solid opportunities on the offensive end. After that, it’s up to him to keep the minutes.
Do you know how yall can shut Tugard up? WEDNESDAY. Until than I will keep my thoughts tu myself. BE SAFE HOOS.
Isn’t McKneely being compared to Tyler Herro? I figured he would be considered an athletic shooting guard, though he’s no Keon Johnson type. Have you seen him play?
He is and is being heavily recruited.
He has an excellent vertical. There’s plenty of video with him throwing down nasty dunks in traffic (see post about #139 above by MaineWahoo). I’m not sure how much wiggle he has. But he’s more athletic than Ty and Kyle and they were athletic enough.
I mean, Ty and Kyle were fine because we had Dre and Mamadi behind them - two phenomenal athletes (and nobody on our current roster really seems in their mold). But agree that McKneely is more athletic than both of them and would absolutely love to have him.
With all due respect, one can argue that Casey and Reece are more athletic than Kyle and Ty. I think we just have to learn roles, learn our offensive systems, pack-line, and to play together.
Yes I think the athleticism we need is more in the Deandre Hunter and Diakite roles. Especially the latter to recover well from the high hedge and also protect the rim. Diakite was an athletic freak in that regard. Akil Mitchell was elite too.
I think that’s why McKoy has been a starter. I think he has that capability, not Diakite or Mitchell’s but more like Atkins, Hunter, Gill, and Wilkins. Remember the ‘19 teams defense wasn’t one of the stronger defenses.
you have your agenda and your biases, it is ok…everyone does…I never expected you to admit you were wrong…by the way, 67 points for the 3 games you cited (62 for the four games I cited)…10pts under the average for those elite eight teams season average and 13pts under for the sweet sixteen teams…they really made us change our style of play!
2015 Atkins might have been the most dominant inside defender we’ve had.
Come on, you have had a beef with CTB for years…it just gets old and frankly is stale now that CTB is a certain hall of famer…I would suggest rooting for Kentucky if you want the best athletes on the floor and not much hope of a championship.
…man.
come on man.
Well, a certain poster has a constant refrain, and therefore it crosses the line. If folks want to talk offense and defense, then start a separate thread. This thread is about recruiting…or should we talk about every aspect and every game of the program under the recruiting thread since anything can impact a recruits decision even constant negative tripe by UVA fans.
Yeah, we threw punch for punch with Auburn and TT the last 8 minutes of both of those games…
absolutely no argument from me there
Fair enough. The post you quote though was saying no one (well, almost) is dumping on anyone. Criticism isn’t dumping. I responded to you where you posted about people hating coach and not supporting the team…in the recruiting thread,
Tu, that’s what I mean when I said now. Now being after these last 2 offers
