šŸ€ #10 Virginia vs #10 Colorado St, NCAAT FF, Tues, 19 Mar, 2110, truTV

If this isn’t a wake up call I don’t know what is… Something has to change on the offensive side of the ball and in player development.

And I’ve been thinking this all year but I haven’t wanted to bring it up but I will now and I don’t think it is the sole reason but something to think about. Whenever they cut to the bench on the broadcast, the main person Tony is consulting with is Ron who is right next to him. And J Willy is farther from Tony on the bench than he has been in a long while.

Ron leaves after 2018 and UVA wins the national championship the next year and adapts pretty well the next year before Covid hits. I’m obviously not in practice but is Ron too much of a yes man and less questioning of Tony than others? It seems Tony, in game at least, relies on his opinion the most now so does that contribute to Tony doubling down on the same thing on both ends of the floor?

I’m really ok with Dunn leaving. He’s the poster child for all that is wrong with Virginia basketball. Hi character, tenacious defense, but OMG, the offense is so very bad with him in it.

Reece, good luck in Europe.

Jordan, thanks for the effort, but it was just a very bad fit. Same for Ginger Groves.

Rodog, please take advantage of the free 2nd transfer., unless you want to be the career 7th man.

Dante, Dante. Dante. It just doesn’t work

Taine, graduate early?

Buchanan, iMac, ARob, X, Bliss - ready to go to work?

CTB, maybe some staff turnover would be beneficial. And some soul searching about what CBB has become. And your place in it?

The really funny thing, I can see us winning the conference next year.

If mamadi didn’t hit that shot, Tony’s legacy would be the worst tournament coach of all time.

The most frustrating thing is next year is looking way worse and outside the recent NIL rumors Tony hasn’t shown he is willing to adapt to this new era of basketball. We will be irrelevant once Tony leaves but we are headed there anyway.

Who would want this job? The current roster construction is the worst of any P6 school. I just don’t see a positive path for the program that doesn’t involve 3+ years and I think Tony leaves before then

I agree to an extent about things needing to change, but will never play the hypothetical game when it comes to our natty. Regardless of what Tony has done otherwise in March, we DID win it all that year and nobody can take that away from us or him.

Need to draft rights like they do in NHL and MLB. Dunn could go, get picked by the Nuggets, then they could assign him back to college for the year. Best for everyone involved other than college coaches

Whichever GM drafts Dunn deserves to get fired. Like others have said when he is on offense it is 4 vs 5

Counterpoint, Trey was essentially a one and done recruit doing pretty well in the NBA and what has that positive publicity resulted in?

To be fair, our defense also sucked. We turned them over pretty well, but we were badly outrebounded and they hit 63% of their 2s and 35% of their 3s.

I mean, our offense was obviously much worse, but they scored 1.1 points/possession. We could easily have lost even with a decent offensive showing.

Also, CTB is now 7-5 all time in NCAA first-round games. The team has never lost when shooting over 30% from 3, and never won when shooting under 30%.

Since 2000, out of 415 coaches in performance against seed expectations, Tony is 415. His dad is 26. Maybe he can help

Based on the projected returning core, you can’t name 5 rosters better assuming Beekman and Dunn are gone. Dante, Rohde and Buchanan on the same r starting lineup is nightmare fuel

Hello all, I’m new here, but I’ve been a dedicated Virginia fan for over 50 years. My brother and I have had seasons tickets to football and basketball for 50 years. We’ve been through highs, and a number of lows, but I think weve reached the apex, in terms of lows! Football absolutely stinks. I’ve finally stopped going, because even the folks we tailgated with stopped coming. My brother in law and I ended up tailgating alone. We chased a top quarterback off to NC State, and totally changed every aspect of our game plan. Recruiting is at the bottom of the conference, and likely to stay there for a while. I have absolutely loved Tony Bennett, and I still wish he’ll stay, but there are huge questions in my mind about this season!!! Twenty plus point losses to teams we should have beaten, or at last stood toe to toe with. In these off games, like the Colorado State game, we walk on the court with our tails between our legs, and it’s downhill from there! Where are the shooters who did very well in early games, even against stiff competition!! These same guys haven’t been able to throw a ball in the ocean in a number of our games. Is it a lack of concentration, desire, pride, or what’s going on?? I’m 78, and don’t go to as many games as I used to, and I’m thinking of adopting VCU or Richmond, because it’s a much shorter drive, and they are competitive. I can actually get home afterwards closer to my bed time. The ride home after one of Virginia’s really crappy efforts seems to take an eternity! Sorry for the rant, but I’ve invested much time and love in UVA, and this is painful to my core.,

What a pointless exercise - everyone’s roster is about to get flipped upside down lol

That’s where I’m at.

The first few times UVa had the ball, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Guys were already passing up wide-open outside shots so that they could…pass it to a guy who was guarded and just as far away, with only 3 seconds left on the shot clock.
