2021-22 Season Look Ahead

Slightly off topic, and in response to what is going on with European football, to see UVA on this list is really something.

Certainly high praise for Virginia and worthy of basking in this glory. I see most of these, even if Indiana feels like a stretch, but UConn?

I haven’t listened to the podcast, and have to assume this is lighthearted in nature. I’m sure history, money, and conference prestige play a big role in the list or else Gonzaga would be there. Interest discussion for sure.

Four national titles over a 15 year period.

Interesting list and glad the Hoos made it. I know on the football side this has been tossed around numerous times and was likely closer to become a reality than ever earlier this year.

High praise indeed although it appears that big time basketball doesn’t exist west of Kansas.

Hmm…12 programs to start a super league taking into account current status, historical achievement, resources, attendance and national following?
Top 4 are easy - Duke UNC Kentucky Kansas
New bloods - Villanova Virginia Gonzaga?Baylor?
Then some combo of UCLA MSU Texas Oregon Florida Arkansas Louisville Michigan Indiana? Arizona Syracuse? UConn? Wisconsin? Ohio State?

If it’s take 2 from each P5 plus 2 wildcards, we got no shot at that.

Gotta respect the dude who has a sizeable playform, bleeds Carolina blue, and gets it that Virginia has owned them for the past few years

Fair point on the UConn titles, but they haven’t been ranked in the top 25 during the regular season since 2015-16, I believe. Still, I had forgotten how much success they had during that stretch.

Polite is an NBA 3 and D guy. he could be really good next year if he gets more comfortable creating points

yeah i wonder how much weight they placed on each criterion. if your goal is to create a conf generating the most $ possible (pretty sure this was the goal of the super league) then you can’t include uconn. if you’re also considering history of success then ucla becomes a no-brainer over them

I realize there is some crossover among UVa sites, did anyone see the post about Kadin on the Sabre before it was deleted?

No but it must not have been good

No, what was it about?

Pretty sure “bridgehoo” is a regular poster in these parts under a slightly different moniker involving trees rather than water.

Please tell me it wasn’t something bad…

I feel like posts containing good news are not removed from a forum

So what did this post say??

What did he say? I can’t see the forest through the trees…

Spill the beans.
