2022-23 Out of Conference (non-ACC / non-UVa)

South Carolina up 11 on Kentucky at Rupp.

We need calipari to stay though. Calipari leaving could be used by the sheppard as an out, but at the same time they aren’t going to turn on Kentucky in a time of need and a new coach would probably be preferrable for the sheppards. We need Calipari to stay and for it to be super toxic so that can be used as an excuse to get out/so Kentucky fans will be like “Can’t blame him”.

Im just perplexed that Georgetown put up a better fight vs South Carolina than Kentucky has so far.

Man South Carolina sucks but GG Jackson is so good lol. And he just turned 18 in December. No idea if he’s draft eglible.

Smoke that Justin Moore might not play this season for Villanova (talks of him coming back any game now) and instead using his extra year at either Georgetown (depending on the new coach) or Maryland. Would be a Big ooof to the Villanova fans on twitter that talked shit to me when all I did was post a Tony Bennett GIF for ElMarko Jackson’s top 7. Keep them in your prayers.

Also a lot of smoke regarding Ed Cooley at Providence being the target for the Georgetown administration. Should have taken the hint like months ago when I asked about why Garwey Dual, top 50 2023 pg, didn’t sign his letter of intent to Providence and HGN was like “it helps keeps things less complicated like if his coach heads to Georgetown” which I thought at the time was just a hypothetical lol.

Huh. I guess Georgetown is a theoretically better job than Providence? Depends how changeable you think Georgetown’s recruiting dropoff post 2016 is. Cooley has gotten Providence’s talent level to be pretty similar to Georgetown now, at least by recruiting rankings.

It just is a better job. Better metro and more passionate fan base means more resources to unlock

Agree. It’s a “one weekend” step up. Providence has maxed out at roughly a first weekend team. With a really good year being Sweet 16. Hoyas could up that by a weekend. Could be top 20 caliber with a good year making them final 4 caliber. Much better recruiting base, IMO, and doesn’t have to worry as much about a reinvigorated UConn or (maybe…) a reinvigorated BC.

Cooley would mop up most of the talent in the DMV, and he can actually coach. Would be a really solid hire for G’Town.

That’s amazing. That guy was created without self-awareness.

Somehow it feels fitting for Jay Williams to become Georgetown’s first black head coach.

The Brice Sensabaugh experience. Watching him get a bucket as you are losing to 6-8 Minnesota on the road.

Wow, Kyle Tucker’s assessment of Cal is pretty damning. If I am a recruit like Reed Sheppard who needs further development to make the NBA, I’d be worried about what my development might look like at UK.

Likely just a coincidence, but it jumped out that one of the mailbag questions that Tucker answers in the article is from a “Reed S.”

Maybe I will allow myself to have a tiny bit of hope that Sheppard still could become a Hoo.
